The princess wandered the halls of the palace.
Tired.
Pointless.
Trapped.

Who cared about beauty, and smarts, and charm, if you never got a chance to use them?
Who cared about how luxurious your dresses, how expensive your jewllery, how creative your hairstyle?
Who cared about you at all, so far from them, so isolated, so lost?

It seems existence could not continue in these conditions.

Chris shot Rei and Fortevera a quick thankful glance.
But they weren't supposed to be here.
There was no tour.
This was completely illegal.

He had to have given him something.
Chris did his best to think.
Indeed, He had given him a bottle of masking potion and a bottle of amnesia potion.

Chris sprayed the group with masking potion.
Now no one could see them, hear them, or feel them.
Yes, they were like living ghosts.

Then he sprayed the guards, apart from Rei and Amia, with amnesia potion.

That was the best this poor wreck of a man could do.

Chris jumped into the front carriage, very nearly slammed the door shut, and let out a long breath.
Soon as you closed the doors, your carriage and pegasi would become invisible.
The perfect opportunity to reflect on your very bad life choices.
Which Chris had plenty.
And to solve all of them, he was going to have to rely on this bunch.

The carriages took off.

Perfectly at that moment, ten minutes was up.

"Welcome back! I hope you're all prepared, for we have quite an exciting journey ahead of us! Follow me to the carriages!"
Chris led the group outside, where carriages pulled by majestic white pegasi were parked.
The carriages and pegasi were all shimmering mirage-like, almost transparent in some places.

"Hop inside, close the doors, and sit back and enjoy!"
Upon closer inspection, you realise the doors are different from normal carriages.
They are floor to ceiling, shimmering just like everything else, with small windows.

While Paiyoon and the rest were busy stocking up and discussing her lifestory, Athena checked her infinity pocket. Her parents had loaded her to the brim with stuff, and in addition to her infinity pocket, Athena carried a fair-sized handbag, working on the same logic as her pocket, just unable to create anything. It could fit slightly larger things, and was enough to carry provisions and potions, along with a surplus of protection amulets.

She was prepared, to say the least.

Yup, she'd messed up pretty bad. To think that having to deal with stuck-up nobles all day would at least have given her some defense. But they never threw insults, so all they did was make her lax. Her clients never dared insult her, so they weren't much practice either.

She was quite tempted to explain how quite very logically, you could tame enough dragons to fight every black crested dragon there was, and that Promethius didn't actually have that much experience.

But she had to grab onto her single fire extinguisher.

No point making more of a fool of herself.

But seriously, adults these days... Even Paiyoon...

That was close. Too close. Her temper was just something Athena could never get under wraps. Everything else was easy. But emotions flared as high as they could, and there wasn't always a damper readily available.

Athena's composture remained as calm as ever. But inside, she was boiling with fury. She knew she had to get out of this, calm down, move away, before she got herself into any serious trouble. But she was stuck in a fountain of lava, getting pushes closer and closer to the erruption.

She'd seen better. But it truly was an extremely uncomfortable feeling to be unable to retort properly.

Ha. Quite the boaster. What did she bring to the table? A lot more than he did, that's for sure.

But calm, peace. Now's not the time. She would worry about curing people of their ego later.

"I have acheived excellence in both academic studies and tournaments you can only dream of. But I find talking about my personal strengths quite boastful, so I suppose you'll have to find out on the quest."

She put as much bite into the words as she dared. But it just wasn't satisfactory enough.

Well, she couldn't sit here like she was paralysed much longer. That would be even more suspicious than slipping up. Getting up with a suppressed sigh, Athena decided to wander the halls. She's seen some people disappear into the luxuriously decorated corridor, and so far they hadn't reappeared. A good sign that something was going on.

Walking over, she soon saw the cause for the gathering.
