After the massive cataclysm, the seas disappeared and the worlds shattered. No one recalls the exact events that unfolded, only the fear the brewed amongst them as everyone fought to survive. Hell, no one even recalls what that catastrophic event was, or where it took place. But everyone knows, knows of the Monarch. The Higher Being, the Loving One. They can all remember clearly that the Monarch was the one to bring them out of the barren wasteland, the shining light that brought relief to the broken world. She is greatly revered, having gained a devoted following of thousands upon thousands. They remember when she defeated the chaos disrupting the peace of their planet, bringing them out of captivity. Or do they?……..

Years have passed since that supposed incident, but the family of the Monarch still remains. Ever faithful, adoring of their Monarch, living under her eternal protection. There is none who have dared to oppose her authority, for those who dare to question her love for her people are rumored to never be seen again. Yet the world is never untied. There are people who disagree. People who have found the gaps in their memory strange. Those who wish to escape this enclosed haven. The so-called traitors living underground. And they want to escape the control of the Loving One, or die trying. They are known as the Truth-Seekers, people who believe that the family they have is nothing more than a cult. But it’s not. How could it? Such a loving family with such caring brothers and sisters. Wouldn’t you agree?

It was the final day of the week-long festival dedicated to worshipping the Monarch. Salesmen called out, advertising the hell out of their Monarch-related goods. What better way to boost profits than turning the Monarch’s festival into a marketable event? Then again, weren’t all holidays made to squeeze the money out of your wallet? Brothers and sisters were joyfully skipping around the Town Square, bright decorations adorning every singles street, confetti strewn about as the parade made its way through. Songs were sung of the Monarch’s wonder, and everyone danced happily, calling out merrily to each other. The Monarch herself was to make an appearance later on, to give a speech, which of course everyone was awaiting. All in all, the mood was festive, and nothing could possibly ruin it.

Jasmine swept through the crowd, hood up and mask on. They were meeting soon, the Truth-Seekers. All of them who believed that was something wrong with this whole…shenanigan. Something very, very wrong. To Jasmime, this seemed more like a cult than anything. And if she couldn’t save the others from the Monarch’s control, then she would do anything to try to escape this hellhole. No easy feat, that was for sure, yet Jasmine would die trying.

[Believers are celebrating, Truth Seekers should just prepare to meet up at Jasmine’s brewery.]

“Mmfph….Yeah I do, they’re very tasty. When you’re adventuring, you don’t get food like this unless ya go stealing it from innocent villagers. Which I’m really not fond of, thank you very much. Nice to have food like this every once in a while. And if you don’t mind me asking, whaddya planning to do anyways? Cami never told me much, just that we were going on a rescue mission. Or something. Seemed a fun enough adventure, but y’know, I’d like to hear the details and all. Or….are we just winging it?” Coca somehow managed to get all the words out, while still scarfing down pancake after pancake. It seemed she was more than eager to help finish whatever food the other cookies couldn’t stomach.

Noticing the slight stomp in the way Dee bounded out of the cottage, Cami swiftly appeared behind Dee. “Penny for your thoughts, dear?” She asks, basket balanced precariously on her arm, full of beautiful flowers and fresh smelling herbs. She sported a bonnet around her head, and she held her staff in the other hand, leaning against it as a form of support. She looked shockingly like a grandma, yet moved swiftly and gracefully.

Meanwhile, Coca smelt the ready pancakes, crashed straight through the door of the house and leapt onto the table, grabbing the pancakes with her mouth and devouring it at light speed, seemingly without swallowing. (while still in her dragon form). She giggled, a puff of cloud forming around her as she transformed back into human form. “These are delicious, who made them?”

Coca got up with the noise of everyone around her, spread her wings and left the house for some exercise, leaving a trail of pink-blue cotton candy clouds behind her. The young dragon cookie seemed much more energetic after her sleep and was now shooting across the sky with dizzying speed.

Meanwhile, Cami throws a look of mild horror at the food in front of her, before turning away to pour herself a bowl of her own homemade…..food?? from the cauldron. It wasn’t that she didn’t like it. She marveled at Ace’s and Dee’s skill in cooking….it’s just that she preferred savory stews to pancakes and jam. She gives them all a sweet smile, before heading outside with a jar, collecting Coca’s cotton candy clouds, amongst some other herbs that had flourished in the garden after the rain.

[andrea~ is too lazy to write about the dream. just imagine a standard reaction from both Coca and Cami]

Coca was left with her mind reeling and body tired after that dream. It was too intense for her, who had experienced many dreamless nights of soothing sleep after every adventure. Dreams were always too…draining for her. So she decided to ignore it for now, her cotton candy cloud seal vibrating as she snored away, deep in sleep and causing the cauldron to shake a little.

Cami, meanwhile, had gotten up before dawn, and was already hustling about as per usual. Exiting the kitchen, she greets Mona with a bright smile, already fully decked in out in herb-hunting attire, holding a large frying pan. “Thought that breakfast before continuing would be a good idea. Also I needed to tend to my potion, but it seems my cauldron is occupied at the moment” she laughs cheerily. “It’s alright though, I have other cauldrons I can use. And luckily I’ve got my classes covered by Cream Puff Cookie and Professor Latte, so my class won’t be left struggling academically whilst I’m away attempting to save the world.” Staff in her other hand, she waved it and several tables flew together, a cauldron on one and a piping hot breakfast on the other. She casually throws the frying pan back into the kitchen (whatever was it for in the first place?), before turning to her cauldron and dumping a handful of the herbs Mona gifted her into them, whistling as it bubbled away merrily.

Cami sighs, muttering something about “troubled young youths refusing to sleep” and something about Dee’s writer not being online due to her tremendous capability to stay off the role playing forums of pokeheroes, before putting out the fire with a wave of her staff. She entered her own private bedroom, putting her staff down and heading to bed herself.

Coca, feeling the rain coming, grumbles and flew back into the cottage, hopping into Cami’s cauldron, head tucked beneath her tail, cotton candy cloud covering the cauldron top, and drifts off once again into slumber.

“Fine, then so be it.” Andrea turned away, skirt swishing as she did so, leaving the little cloud girl standing all alone in the corridor. As she walked, she pressed a small button on her remote, and crushed it under the sole of her foot. A ice cage fell from the ceiling, trapping Sera, and the facility rumbled violently, as creatures of ice and huge time-related sentient beings came charging around the corner. However, this large-scale display of magic definitely had its flaws.

It was then Sera would probably realise that this was no facility, rather one of Andrea’s little time fracture dimensions. If Sera tried attacking the monsters, she would realize that they were little more than illusions. A hundred set of identical gleaming doors. “If you want to escape, Sera, then get back to reality first and fight me like a real warrior. Since Jack is busy, we have some time to kill.”

“I have indeed. Though…it used to be nothing more than a bedtime story. And speaking of bedtime…you should head to bed. It’s getting late.” Cami replies, bustling about as she tidied up after the others. Glancing outside the window, she spots the cookies lingering outside and sighs, waving her staff to cast a protective glyph around them. “Rather foolish to stay outside at night, but I suppose everyone has their moments.”

Meanwhile, Coca leapt up to the roof of Cami’s house, snuggling down in the nest atop the cottage, snoozing in her dragon form. It was a wonder how Cami’s roof didn’t collapse, but then again, it was a miracle how Cami’s house even functioned in the first place.

“Snapdragon? As in Snapdragon Cookie? They’re really nice. Nothing to be afraid of. Snapdragon and I used to play in the meadows over there.” Coca turned to ask, glancing at Mona curiously. Coca has stopped doing whatever she had been busy with earlier, and now looked slightly offended.

Cami, meanwhile, was busy chasing others to bed, using her staff to push open the crescent glyph door. “You heard Mona. Go on now, to bed with you all.” Pulling out a bottle, she heads over to her cauldron, now bubbling with colorful sparks, dipping her hand inside to pull out a glistening silver liquid shining like the moon. She thought for a moment, before going outside to her garden, where Ruby was, and sprinkling her flowers with said substance. She silently went back in without a word, and asked Mona if Ruby was alright.

Coca let out a huff, smacking her scales and causing them to disappear. “Very well then. I shall assist you in your…quest.” She heads into the cottage, taking a seat and munching on some cotton candy. Cami busied herself, stirring the cauldron, which was now roaring merrily in the fire with a pretty blue flame

Andrea rolled her eyes so far back into her head, she could probably see her brain. She clenches her fist, swinging it towards Sera as if going to hit her, but never making contact. Instead, the spear disappears from her hands an ice shards poise themselves, ready to attack Sera if she tried to escape. “Not yet. You’ll seek Jack later, not now. Now go back to your room, before I change my mind and kill you.”

And Sera ran right into Andrea, just as she was turning the corner. “What the hell are you doing here? I thought you were supposed to- never mind I’ll kill him later.” Andrea whips out a spear made of ice, pointing it directly at Sera. “Get back to your room. Or I won’t hesitate to kill you. Jack made have made me a deal, but I’m not going to deal with so much trouble.”

Cami took the jars from her, and her lips curved into a slight smile. “Thank you. These will be highly useful indeed.” She shuffled around, placing jars on shelves, before turning to speak again. “There’s proper clothing that can help keep you warm in that cloakroom over there, Ruby. But as for you, Mona. Your quest does seem within reason, so allow me to join you. And my friend.” With that, she plucks a dragon-shaped horn from the shelf, heading outside and blowing a single note, which reverberated through the ground.

Coca heard the noise, and left Auspice to do her dragon things. She soared through the sky, covering ground at an incredible pace, before landing neatly outside Cami’s house. She used her mouth to pluck off the leaves on her scales, letting out a fluffy cotton candy cloud of sneeze as she transformed back into a cookie, some scales still visible on her cheeks and arms. “You called? And why do you have so many visitors?” Coca asked.

With everyone slowly leaving, Wei En followed suit. She found her room, only to be met with another short girl carrying her pot of knife soup. “HI! I suppose we’re dorm mates, right? What’s your name? Your talent? Why are you making knife soup? What is knife soup?” She greets Horatia, cheerily, Bubbles in her hands.

Reilin’s writer has forgotten what Reilin is. If your character is REILIN’S dorm mate, please make the first move. Yours sincerely, the management.

“You’re so annoying. Ughhhhhhhh. Why the hell did I ever agree to this.” An equally loud, fierce voice boomed from behind the door. Uh oh. Sera had pissed the guard off, it seemed. The vibrations of the magical barrier became stronger and stronger, till the barrier around the door broke, the force of which sent the door flying off its hinges. There lay the perfect escape route for Sera! If she could defeat the angry guard, outside, of course.

Cami looked up at Mona. “Very well then. But you seem to be followed by….well, two cookies being shepherded along by another. Three cookies in total. Shall I consider them a part of your group? Or should they be dealt with accordingly?” Without waiting for a reply, Cami sets off at a brisk pace, still hugging the cotton sheep. They took several turns off the main path, Cami using a simple sleeping potion to throw at the cake monsters they encountered, before stopping at the door of a pretty little cottage.

“From here it’s just a short walk to the other side of the mountains. I’d assume that’s where you’re headed. Help yourself to the food, the beds are just there, behind the door with the crescent glyph. But…if I may ask. What are you planning to do? Who dares go on an adventure in such times or peril?”

A second barrier appeared, throwing Sera back onto the pillow pile. It seemed that the barrier surrounding Sera was tightening, preventing her from hitting wall, door or window. “I think you don’t want to stand absolutely still in a tiny magic barrier that shocks you every time you touch it. Stop trying to escape, stop banging on the walls, or that will be your fate.”

Cami lowered her staff. “Very well then. I shall allow you to continue along your merry way. In a not as merry time as this.” She leans down to pet the wolf, and scoops up the fluffy sheep, who was blocking the way. “Run along now. And don’t veer off the main path, unless you want your energy drained before you even cross the mountains. These meadows are pretty, yet equally ridden with monsters.” She pauses to draw a breath, as if considering something, before speaking again. “If you need a rest, my cottage isn’t too far from here. There’s snacks and warm beds. Just don’t touch my potions, and the cauldron, and you’ll be fine. Nice to meet you, Monarda…and company.”

With that, she resumes her herb-hunting, eyes still flicking to the band of traveler’s every now and then.

Wei En waved goodbye to Amelia cheerily, before pulling out a screwdriver from her seemingly endless pockets. She tackled Bubbles from the air, unscrewing a back compartment to reveal a small screen. Clicking on it, a recording feature appeared, and Wei En checked to see if it was working. Her voice had lost its slightly insane, happy chirp, having been replaced with a more serious, monotonous voice that seemed as if Wei En was presenting a report.

“Amelia: A silent girl, well-mannered with deep and intense thoughts. Extremely clever, and likely equally talented, though her understanding of machines is a little lax. Her fascination with that which is human and that which isn’t is quite peculiar for someone who wield the title of Ultimate Astronomer. Information presented to Subject 001 Ultimate Hacker may be inaccurate. Beware of falsehood. Talent may have something to do with spiritual workings, or some fancy entity realm thing that has yet to be explained using logic.”

The screen flashed once, before transcribing all she had said into a report, with a small photograph of Amelia beside it. Underneath it had been typed: [alliances: kei, weien (possibly)]

And underneath it. Do Kei and Amelia have a special connection?

Well. Looks like someone had their priorities straight.

After Wei En was done being all serious and boring, she switched back to her usual, happy, mildly overbearing attitude, humming as she fiddled with her contraptions and waited to be approached.

Reilin’s writer has forgotten Reilin existed. Reilin found her room, decorated crudely with a huge portrait of herself, and someone she didn’t know. Putting her items away, she rests for a moment, before getting up and wandering the hallways of their dorms, staring at people’s portraits.
