	Mare blushes furiously. "That's not what I meant-" she exclaims, before reddening even more. She looks very much like she wants to kick herself, but manages not too. "Let's welcome the Specter herself, a round of applause for Mare!" Ceasar said, welcoming Mare on stage. Mare smiles a little at the nickname. "So, Mare, you enjoying the capitol so far?" he asks her. Mare looks upwards, as if she was thinking. "I'm not sure. If I'm completely honest, if reminds me of the laboratory where I live." she says simply. This surprises Ceasar. "Oh? Would you mind elaborating?" he asked. "Pristine walls, weirdly lit halls, very tall." the last one makes the audience laugh. "Well then." Ceasar says with a smile. "You received a rather high score in training, would you say your... interesting ability had something to do with it?" he asks her. Mare nodded. "Yes, actually. Would the people like a small demonstration?" she asks, turning to the audience. People shout, all saying "yes!"

Mare slightly smiles. Her hand goes ghostly pale again. She slowly lowered her hand. When she reaches the small table in between Ceasar and Mare, her hand goes straight through. people gasp, but start clapping. Mare promptly removes her hand and smiles once more. "Well, that is certainly something we've never seen before." Ceasar said, sounding impressed. Mare dips her head a small bit. "Only two more questions." Ceasar says. "Do you have any family or friends you would like to say something too?" he asks, gently. The smile slips off Mare's face. She had been putting on a brave face so far, but this question stung. "No." she says quietly. "The doctor always taught me not to hold on what I can not control. Rather, I should focus on how and what I can control in the future." she murmurs. This shocks many of the audience. But it seems she has gained there sympathies. "Last question." he says. "What would you do if you won?" this question puzzles Mare. She really hadn't actually thought about that. What would she do? Go back to her home? Somehow Mare thought that wasn't the answer. "Continue on the path laid out for me." she answers truthfully. "Well, that's all the time we have! A big round of applause for the Specter!" Mare waved, as the audience applauded her. She walks off the stage and lets out a long breath. "That wasn't horrible." she admits to herself, heading back to her room.

"Oh no. Oh no. Oh no. Oh no." Mare could feel her blood pressure rising. She was soon, of that she was sure. What she would say, Mare was not so sure. She didn't like big crowds, and when she was nervous, she went Specter. She runs her fingers through her nicely brushed hair. Mare stares at the dress she was wearing. In it, Mare looked stunning. And not in a pretty way. She literally illuminated a whitish glow. Occasionally, she would shift to find someone staring at her, which, naturally, only made Mare more uncomfortable.

Mare quietly walked down the hall. She noticed various people, but seeing as they were busy, chose to pay them no mind. She looked truly ghostlike, in the weird capitol lighting. She wondered for a moment what the doctor and what Lacy were doing. Would they mourn her when she died? Or would they continue with there work, knowing she might be able to be brought back again? Mare truly didn't know.

Mare stared at the screen in shock. A 9? That's better then most of the people! Mare's hands started shaking, and this time, not from nerves, but from excitement. Mare took some deep breaths, her sickness from earlier evaporating. Smiling widely, Mare exited her bedroom. She had yet to make any new friends. And surprisingly, Mare really wished she could share this moment with someone.

"Mare Elive."

Mare bit her tongue. Now that she knew how this worked, she expected an exceptionally low score. She enters through the doorway and casts a nervous glance throughout the room. Her eyes flick from the knives to the spears to the bows. The gamemakers coughed a little, obviously telling Mare to hurry up. Mare takes a deep breath and walks straight to the training partner given for hand-to-hand combat. Mare and said training partner take positions on a mat. She clenches her fist for a moment before nodding to her opponent. The trainer struck first, sending a fast blow towards Mare's head. Mare sidestepped effortlessly, landing a swift blow and jumping back. Mare closed her eyes for a second, steeling her nerves. Her skin becomes even more pale then it was before almost transparent. She launces herself at the trainer with supernatural speed. Every blow that Mare doesn't dodge simply goes straight through her. But every time Mare launches an attack, her hands and feet solidify, allowing her to land hard blows and not taking severe damage. After a fast two minutes, Mare has the trainer on the floor, she has immobilized him. She turns back to the gamemakers, narrowing her eyes. For the first time ever, Mare is actually proud of her work. Many gamemakers clap, looking impressed. Sort of as if they never expected such a performance to come out of someone as weak and as pale looking as Mare. "You may leave." one says, clearing there throat. Mare dips her head in acknowledgement and leaves. As she walks away from the room, she can feel herself getting unusually excited. The thrill of that fight and the satisfaction of having defeated her opponent makes Mare near giddy. With a sharp pain in Mare's temple, Mare collapses against the wall. "That was a mistake." she immediately thinks, the happiness she had just felt disappearing as soon as it had come. So much switching between Specter and Normal has drained a lot from Mare. Mare pulls herself back to her feet and stumbles back to her room. She collapses again, this time on her bed. She closes her eyes and the tendrils of sleep drag her down, into a disturbed half-sleep.

Mare was dead. She was sure of it. The pain that had followed the wound was so severe, Mare was sure she was in eternal punishment. Mare slowly opens her eyes. Three faces are above hers. None of which she recognized. "Hello Mare." one of the men said. "I am the doctor." he added. Mare nods, looking to the other two people, one of which was female and one of which was male, for introductions. "They are not important." the doctor says, when he notices Mare was looking at the others. The doctor sits down on a chair. He begins talking about how Mare wasn't alive anymore. She was legally dead. She was a spirit that had been brought back. Mare was so confused she couldn't even speak. "But always remember Mare...if you allow yourself the Specter, you will become one." the doctor finished. Mare could barely ask what he meant, before another wave of pain washes over her, and she falls unconscious again.

Aurora bites back a stinging retort. Like Samton, she had seen the paper. While she has less conventional reasons for not wanting to touch it, she leaves it on the ground. She takes a mental photograph of the piece of paper. She narrows her eyes at Samton, whose name she took from Suvansh's head. She feels a pang of sadness as she remembers the other Samton, the one to mentally damaged to attend school.

	Mare hesitantly waves back. Her mind is too foggy and to tired for her to actually function correctly. She yawns again before leaning against the door. "Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh." Mare stretches her arms backwards, and her shoulder pops, making Mare wince again. [Read more]

	Mare silently exits her bedroom. She shuts the door behind her, and winces when it makes a small creaking sound. Her pale skin looks paler then usual. Her blinks the sleep out of her eyes, and rubs her forehead with the back of her hand. She yawns, looking exhausted. [Read more]

	Aurora growls. "Avenseguim" she says, waving her wand. Aurora had a necklace, that Suvansh had given her. It leads her to where Scarlett is pointing her wand at Jules, and Suvansh has his wand at Scarlett. Aurora doesn't even need to asks. "Expelliarmus." she thinks, pointing her wand at Scarlett's immobile body. [Read more]

Aurora paused. She was reading a book, but had been getting increasingly distressed as she continued reading the book. She concentrates, and closest her eyes. "Suvansh!" she realizes with a start. She scrambled to put her book in her bag. "Where are you, where are you, where are you?" she repeated, trying to search the little of Suvansh's head she could "see." She closes her eyes again. "Come on Suv, where are you?" she murmurs aloud, sending the message with her mind.

	Mare slumped against the railing, sitting on the balcony. She ran through every exercise the doctor had taught her. She envisioned herself crushing her feelings. Forcing it into a shard of ice that she dropped off the balcony. Mare looks down at her hands, so ghostly and pale in the pure sunlight. She forces her worries and anxiety down. But the pangs of loneliness soon return. [Read more]
