"Well, no matter what age he is, my speech worked. Which means I won the bet. Can't wait to tell Ten." They gave an evil smile, their sweet and soft appearance from earlier gone. It was as if they were Lucifer - beautiful enough to earn your trust before they pull the rug out from you and show their true intentions. The smile was gone when another voice spoke up.
"Tell me what?" he asked, poking his head around the doorway. For a moment, Ten glanced around, his pastel blue eyes taking in everyone's faces. "Oh. Newbies. I forgot."

Unfortunately, the stakes are much higher this time, it seems. They didn't listen." Sarcasm said. Their pale yellow eyes softened, almost turning sad, but there was also something angry in there. For a few seconds, the entire room was suddenly static-charged, and a whiff of ozone could be detected. However, the moments passed and they sighed. "Please, Mallory. Give Ather a chance. Don't decide right now, wait a little longer to hear the full story. After, you can choose whether to stay or go, and I will make sure it happens. No one will judge you for it. Deal?"

That is a decision each of you must make on your own." Mauve said. Conveniently, she didn't answer Mallory. Sarcasm sent her a glare for this, but she pretended not to notice.
Sarcasm chose their words very carefully. They seemed to have a bit more trouble speaking than Mauve, or any other human for that matter, but it wasn't too dramatic. Really, it was only noticeable if someone was to pay attention to it. "Immunity is given to each family member in the case of acceptance. No matter the current branded list, their parents and siblings are not allowed to be terminated or hurt by any student under any circumstances. That being said, if the accepted student fails or drops out, their family is no longer given immunity. If humans do end up as branded..." They trailed off, not willing to finish that sentence.

"Ten's just moody." Lee said in reply, glancing over the rim of her coffee cup. Slowly, he clear eyelids slid into place before returning to their previous state. It was a sign of deep thought in Lee's specific body language. Since regularly blinking took a small amount of focus to maintain, getting lost in her own head tended to make her forget the action, meaning it was easiest way to tell her thoughtfulness. "Nothing that hasn't happened before. Although, the rain probably isn't helping. But I'm sure he'll be fine in a few hours, maybe a day or two. Four at the most."

Sarcasm replied. They seemed to have a few pieces of their sentences in another language, although it wasn't certain considering the circumstances. They took another sip of their bright drink, answering Mallory before their feminine friend could. Their voice was uncharacteristically gentle. "Mallory," they hesitated, as if mentally correcting themself, "you are a special case. While there is something non-human about you, it is unsure if you are exactly what we're looking for. Yuires halrio walwe, better safe than sorry. However, we believe you could still tip the balance. But if you feel uncomfortable, I will personally ask for you to be removed. Keep in mind, the latter will rid you and your family of immunity."

Their eyes were pale gold, like a lighter version of their hair. It suited them. "Although, it would be nice to see that arrogant pygmy sprite with the White Roses trampled to death for all those comments he makes about his lightning-inclined cousins. I mean, obviously, we're the superior breed. But I'm sure I'd get blamed for that death as well." They pause for a moment, his eyes refocusing from whatever gruesome fantasy he was having. "Excuse my rambling. I'm Sarcasm Bellan. Don't bother introducing yourselves, I already know all of you by name."

"Maybe it could work. Maybe all the humans will turn on Ather and we'll be forced to put down as many as we can before we ourselves die." They replied, reaching up to run a hand through their hair. Kiralu gave an annoyed hiss, taking to the air again and landing by Mauve on the desk. The new person just stuck out their tongue at the feathered wyvern in response.
"Well, look who finally decided to show up." Mauve said, reaching into her bag. She brought out a bottle of brightly colored liquid, probably soda, and tossed it to them. They caught it smoothly, and opened the cap to take a sip as she continued. "Do you know how long I was waiting for you? And don't say you were busy, everyone knows by now you can get out of anything if you try hard enough."

"Yes, Mallory, that's definitely one reason." She tapped her bracelet and the hologram turned off. Brushing her hair out of her face, she sat back on the same desk she threw her bag on earlier. "But, we are having some serious problems ourselves. Ather University simply doesn't have enough functioning teams to track down monsters. Team Eyeliner's been working overtime, the White Roses are scrambling to find another suitable Alhike after their accident, and the other three top teams either have several MIA members, or are dealing with Earthens. We need more students, more fighters, and if that means recruiting non-Ather humans, then we're willing to take the risk."
"Personally, I think the whole thing's insane," said a new voice. There, leaning in the doorway was a new person. Whether they were male or female was unclear, but one thing was certain, they were incredibly attractive. Their features were soft enough to border on feminine, with tawny-gold hair long enough to fall into his eyes a bit, even part.. Their skin was flawlessly pale, and their body thin, but their face made it obvious they were Asian - probably Korean or Japanese, or whatever the equivalent was on Ather. They wore a simple pair of black jeans and a button-down white shirt, but it didn't diminish their model-like appearance at all, it actually suited them. Kiralu sat in their hair, much smaller now, and almost dull compared to the nest of woven sunlight beneath him.

Every creature deemed too violent or too destructive is filed under this image, and if a monster is captured, the mark is put on their skin, easily identifying them to the general public should they escape." She shifts her fingers again, this time curling them into a fist. An image of a human appears, along with little words that say 'temporary status.' Mauve continues. "Currently, humans have been filed under the monster brand with a temporary status. Meaning no team may attack without specific instruction or clear reason. A discussion is being held to decide on whether or not we should permanently add you to the list. For what I've seen, the discussion isn't leaning in your favor, even with Death and Sarcasm both arguing your cases quite strongly."

"Ah, I suppose Earthens don't have them." Mauve replied, lifting a hand. Around her wrist was a thin silver bracelet, and a blue circle lit up on it, projecting an image onto her palm. It was a perfect replica of Kiralu in a hologram form, sitting back on his legs with his wings extended fully. His coloration was represented by different shades of blue, and his mouth was open to allow his forked tongue to loll, resembling a happily panting dog. "Since we have such a variety of monsters on Ather, we created the university to help train those who fought our enemies. But one person could not do all the jobs that needed to be done, so teams were formed. Each person on the team had a specific task. For example, I am a Talihen, or the main offensive fighter, and also take the position as leader. I weigh the opinions of my friends and make the final decision, along with landing the first blow on most of our enemies. There are many others, spanning many skills. An Alhike is the informant, but their best known for their work with animals. They often forge special bonds with creatures to aid our cause, and are aware of the knowledge needed to take down many monsters. Since you all have the gift of the companion, or familiar, you can pass for specialized Alhikes, although it won't be perfect."

"But, personally, I ask you to reserve strong judgement for later. Ather does have bad qualities, but it also has plenty of good ones as well."
