I still play, but life has been kicking me around like a bully. Mostly, I log on to nab dailies and change my sig to 'AFK, come farm' while leaving the game open when I leave for school and work. Sometimes I find myself with enough time to try and blitz through updates, like I did for the Chasm and Enkanomiya (both the main map and the event one). They're pretty, but I don't want to wait eight months to do a story quest... like I'm doing for character quests- Ganyu, Itto, Ayako, and Xiao. Poor them, they've been waiting for too long. XD

Other than that, though, yeah. I just don't have the time currently. That said, I play trading off between phone and PC so I'm not too hurt for connection, but convenience. Really depends on if I want to use my bursts/skills/jump everytime I try to walk. I just turn co-op off when I use my phone. Unless someone managed to join in the ~30 seconds it takes for me to do that, which has happened a fair few more times than once.

--- My Updates ---

1) I got a Venti. He and Kazuha have made it so I nearly always have Burst after Burst available for my team. Downside is that it only leaves me with two other team slots, which I fill with Kokomi and Qiqi for healing.

2) I have traveled stubbornly traveled from the very bottom of the Chasm to the top, using too many stamina foods and a combination of Venti/Kazuha/Albedo/G.Traveler and... let me tell you, it took a few days because I refused to log out and reset my progress.

3) Inazuma festival was awesome, and I'm 100% happy they included Scara in it. I'm a little sad that the most interaction we have with Klee in said festival is a non-explosive Klee-Yoimiya friendship thing that lasts like... half of one day. Klee's book being sold alongside her mother's was a beautiful touch.

4) I have fixed my Klee artifacts and she's stacked with attack, EM, and a full Witch of Flames artifact set. Needless to say, hilichurls are being burnt left and right. Things get dicey when I forget to bring Kokomi or Childe to put out the fires she causes.

5) Chasm story questline was beautiful and I can only hope we get more of it. I really want to see where Hoyoverse goes from here, but... I don't see my life scaling down the chaos anytime soon. (T^T)

6) If anyone wants me to start posting pictures I take from the game, let me know. They'll probably contain some kind of spoiler, but I'll try to leave them mostly out.

Title: Berries!

I am the proud owner of level 95 Cheri Berries.

I'm sooo close to having my first set of level 100 berries. Then it'll be time for me to move onto the next set of berries to level up while also up-keeping with the Cheri requests. I'm also working on Bulk and Aguav berries while working on the Cheri berries, but let me tell you. It's a slow grind that's more involved than most 'growing crop' games. It's been fun.

(It's especially been slow since I was a dummy and... you know, didn't start working on them side-by-side until the Cheri Berries were nearly level 90. So my Aguav Berries are level 16- my next highest leveled berries- while my Bulk Berries are level 14.)

That said, the berries I can put back into my bag to feed pokemon, so there's a very nice pay off. And since this site prevents you from accidentally sending the last of your highest level berry back into your bag, I'm relatively safe.

I might currently have a Cheri Berry infestation in my bag, though. Uh... 16.5k Cheri Berries are currently sitting in my bag, waiting to be turned into cooked meals or feed as-is to eagerly awaiting Pokemon.

Makes me wonder, though. Can anyone boast about their fully leveled berry-dex? I'm nowhere near there, but I'm proud of my level 95 Cheri Berries.

I have so many pretty pictures of the Underground and... I can't post them because, spoilers. Drat.

Instead, have this pretty non-spoiler picture from Enkanomiya.

Good luck to everyone in The Chasm, the upcoming events, and may you all get the pulls you wanted early!

--- --- ---

This is a very strange update. There's so much to do, and it's all in a very vertical map. My newly acquired Venti has been helpful, albeit sort of squishy.

Same with the digging minigame you unlock by doing part of the 6-item offering. I'm a little hopeful that, going by the store owner's words, that it's a repeatable thing we can do for chests. I know it's too much to ask for, but I kinda hope it's not a 'you can only do this x number of times before the npc no longer lets you' sort of thing like others before it.

It is, yeah. And it can be daunting / unrewarding for new players since they can easily miss out on so many things. Thankfully, a good portion of the community are really nice and never mind lending a hand to help others out. Be it from helping them with co-op friendly quests to just clearing domains and locating chests. The number of treasure-hunting 'expeditions' I've helped others with because- hello, free Primos and Adventure EXP?

Who knows how many people helped me demo team setups so I could get past world level... 6? I think it was six, at any rate. This one dude spent nearly two weeks joining my world and helping me grind artifacts, talent books, and ascension materials, and just being a general supportive guy with little things like pointing out enemy cues and the occasional "Hey, I noticed you seem like you're struggling against this kind of foe, what's up?" (usually me, because Hydro Mages sucked back then, and still suck now) and then helping me come up with a general team that worked with my, then main, Traveler. It was fun, and I like to help others because I remember how fun it was and hope someone else can enjoy a little bit of fun, too. If I can help them with something, even better!

He was AR 45 (there about) and had just wanted to show off his newly, fully kitted, Hu Tao. Noticed I was AR 20 and went "Hey, you want someone to keep you company while you go about things?". It was... odd to watch him two-hit KO most of my ascension bosses. He even dragged out fights just so I could learn their patterns for when I fight them solo.

That's the beauty of Genshin. There's so many different ways to go about the same fight. None of them are wrong.

Unless you're trying to solo Oceanid with Barbara. I draw a line at other similar fights.

I mean... my Klee + Lisa combo has been known to keep most of my enemies in stunlock via the overload reaction. It's actually kind of OP if you've got the right setup (isn't it also the strongest of all elemental reactions?). That said... it does toss them around, which can be funny near a cliff but annoying if you're trying to hit them at close range. Bye-bye, Hilichurl. Enjoy your short flight.

Same with Xingqiu/Kokomi+ Lisa with Electro-Charge. It's funny to watch abyss mages get stunlocked into just standing there... electro does tend to leave an AOE on the ground when used in bodies of water, though. That AOE can stunlock you, too, if you aren't careful. They / you also take damage during this time, so it can be really dangerous.

Xinqiu + Kokomi + Kaeya + Chongyun has also done much the same in terms of freezing enemies solid for a good chunk of time.

If your enemies can't attack... well, they can't attack. That said, not all enemies can be afflicted with a stun / freeze, so... perhaps situationally useful.

The issue is that people use Benny to buff their phsycial attack teams, and Bennett at C6 turns attacks into Pyro, which use elemental mastery instead of attack to scale damage. Which, as you can imagine, throws a lot of team build-up out the window.

I personally have no issues with C6 Bennett, but I also know that there are those who have Bennett's C6 ready to activate and refuse to do so because they'd have to rebuild their team, or swap him out, if they did so.

Personally, I left out constellations since you have to really grind for 5-star constellations, but yeah. They can make already-made characters even stronger.

They can also ruin team setups, like C6 Bennett... which people like to says doesn't exist.

Strongest Character? It really depends on how you build and use them. Since artifacts, skill levels, and team setup plays heavily into what your characters can do, there's no real 'these two characters are perfectly identical' and 'this team is the one everyone should use'. There's also character patches that MHY pushes out every now and then that either buffs certain things or nerfs them. I seem to recall that people heavily used a Jean/Venti combo early on, but I rarely ever see anyone use said combo these days.

--- Examples on my characters in spoilers ---

Show hidden content

My Lisa does ~700 damage normally since her attack stat is just over a thousand. However, her elemental mastery means that reactions can do upwards of 2k damage and can get rid of shields with ease with reactions. I rarely use her, however, and she's poorly kitted out with her talents only being 5/5/5. (Take Lisa's stats with a grain of salt, her base attack also deals damage based on Elemental mastery since it's almost always going to cause some kind of elemental reaction).

My Albedo is sort of the same despite his talents being 8/8/7. His attack and elemental mastery are both lesser than my Lisa's, so he rarely does more normal damage than her. However, his skills deal more damage based on his defense stat, and his defense is just shy of 3k. I've used him solo to take down both Stormterror and Boreas. I have had varying levels of success based on how long I give myself to fight. Albedo also has a delayed AOE if you use his skill, then burst, and then just attack normally. So there's also that to consider.

On the other hand, my Qiqi (talents 8/8/7) with 2k attack can just about fully heal my Kazuha (since Qiqi's healing is based on her attack stat) when he's down at less than 1k health, and he's got 20k health. My Kazuha with 2.4k attack and 250 elemental mastery (and talents 8/8/8) can reliably deal on average 1k damage on his own without using any skills. Using skills, however, I have seen him do upwards so 20k damage on base anemo alone, which excludes whatever other element I bring in using swirl and adds to the damage total.

My Tartaglia (talents 8/6/5), on yet another hand, has 1.6k attack and 19 elemental mastery. He does, however, has nearly 80% crit rate and 130% crit damage. For his very, very low elemental mastery stat, his riptide is insanely powerful and is wonderfully paired with Kazuha's skill for massive crowd control. I need to work on his elemental mastery, but I'm not certain I want to sacrifice his crit stats for it just yet. His first talent is actually listed as a 9, but that's because his passive buff increases the normal attack of all party members by one, so it's possible to gets normal attack past the hard-cap of 10.

I prefer a combat focused team, but I've seen people who use a combo of Kokomi and Barbara as their main. A combo like that means that you need to be weary of going against any cryo, electro or hydro enemies, and that you might take quite awhile to fight against enemies, but the constant healing and hydro-damage from that healing means you aren't likely to die. However, that's where they usually pull up their other two teammates who can deal with that weakness. (Two player co-op means each person get's two characters. Three player co-op, each person gets one character, with host getting two. Four player co-op, everyone gets a single character.)

I've also seen someone who solos with Noelle, and I'll be honest. I've been itching to try that. Her attack scales with her defense, and her shield also scales with her defense. Her shield can heal and deal damage (healing takes place when noelle attacks while shielded and scales with her defense), and it can trigger on it's own if she's in your party, not active, and your active characters health drops below 30% of their max. She's also a character you can get very, very early on since she's got a beginner exclusive banner that you're guaranteed to get her on if you pull... I think 20 times? It's laughably easy to get those 20 pulls in a single day if you take your time just exploring.

So really, it all depends on how you want to play and what you're looking for.

@Ralsei -- I know. It's part of why I adore Klee so much. But yeah, as I said. 'Boing Boing BOOM!' will be the last thing I ever hear. She means well, but... she did take a chunk out of Stormbearer Mountain at one point.

I think it safe to say, anyone with Ganyu or Jean in their party is safe regardless of who else they get. Unless it's Klee...

I saw a little something on Twitter, and couldn't help but want to ask you all.

"You're in the middle of a Zombie Apocalypse. Your first and last 5 star character is your team to survive. No Elemental Powers. Do you survive, or are you Zombie Food?"

Klee (6/20/21) and Keqing (1/11/22). On one hand, I might survive with extreme caution. On the other... will the last words I ever hear be 'Boing Boing BOOM!'? Because, let's be honest: Klee doesn't need a Pyro Vision to burn the world down by accident.

Fun Fact: If I hadn't gotten Keqing, my last 5* would have been Albedo, which... would tank my chances of living even more. For the exact same reasons, although Albedo would do it intentionally. Pretty certain Klee learned her behavior from Albedo, at any rate.

--- --- ---

So... which one of you will live?

@Taavi -- I'm good either way, thank you. On one hand, not knowing means I get suprised. On the other hand, I don't get to prepare. That said, I really do mean it when I say thank you. I guess the next few banners are going to be safe for me.

2.5: Yae's been confirmed as a Catalyst user (iifc) and they're hit-or-miss with me (besides: between Klee/Yanfei, Kokomi, and Lisa, most of my catalyst needs are met), I'm not interested in the Shogun, and I have Kokomi. She's fine as a C0.

2.6: I don't use Ayaka, and I don't think I'll be using Ayato. As for Kaz... the setup I run him with takes advantage of the CD and C1 would mess with that. I really didn't like demo-ing Yoimiya, I'm not sure what exactly it was about her though.

If you're on an American server I can help with Thunder Manifestation.

It's crazy the kind of power Kazuha has, even if you don't stack EM as the main stat. The trial artifacts MHY gives us to demo him doesn't do him justice. I haven't had a reason to swap him out of my party (lead) since I got him. He and Qiqi are the sole reason I survive most of the mass fights I get myself into by accident.

That said, I get it. "But what IF-". I'm kind of in that lock myself since I failed to nab me a Xiao. I've got a sure-fire banner character when I hit Pity, but do I waste it on trying for Zhongli (knowing I'll never get him to C6)? Do I waste it on Ganyu, who I probably will never use since I have Tartaglia? Do I hold it for a later character, and if so, who? I usually miss the announcements and have no idea who the next banner character(s) is/are going to be until they're released in-game.

So, a little thing I don't know if anyone here has noticed.

You all know Jade Seeker (Chubby)? In our teapots? The one we have the weekly BP challenge to buy two things from in another persons world?

He sells these things called Radiant Spincrystal. They unlock more melodies for your Euphonium.

Right now, they only seem to be found via Chubby. However, according to the item description, MHY might put some in Teyvat proper since not all are currently available according to the wiki.

You know, I really need to build up my C6's. I've heard plenty of good things about Rosaria, and I use my DPS Klee set for Yanfei when I swap them out. Chongyun's been fun, although I don't really use claymores. His skill also causes everyone to deal Cryo damage, so I'm a little lost how to best use him with the others I have. Ningguang's also been fun, but I still need to get her past level 50. Her burst is pretty neat, but I don't know how to use her skill well.

Too many characters to build up and kit, and not nearly enough resin or time. Any suggestions on who build?

@duevakini --- Welcome in!

@Mimi --- Congrats, and good luck! (Edit, because I saw your previous post) If you want to hop into my world sometime, let me know. I don't mind pausing my farm for Chongyun since I still need to work on Ningg.

@CjNazzy --- Good luck with that!

Happy Lantern Rite, everyone, and good luck on what ever it is you want to do!

Firework crafting is fun, especially once you get around to customizing it all. I just wish I had co-op teammates to show off to. Shadow Lantern caused me a bit of headache, but that was also fun! The relic retrieval missions seem like the Golden Apple Islands mini event with Klee, and I hope this means that we'll be able to the use Wave Rider outside of Inazuma (and Ganyun Stone Forest) once Lantern Rite is over.

--- --- ---

I failed to bring Xiao home. Oof, but I C6'd Chongyun and got two extra pulls out of him trying for extra Yun Jin Cons. I'm thinking of using my free 4* so I can finally get my C6 Geo Queen (Ningg- speaking of, have you all seen her hew outfit? It's so pretty!)

As much as I want Zhongli, I doubt I'll ever get him to C6 (Healing Shield; Geo would replace Albedo and healing would replace Qiqi), and my current team setup means I'm never running out of shields or resurrections from Qiqi. I know there's plenty of good things to say about Zhongli, and I really do want to add him to my team rotation, but I'm now kind of waffling...

As for Ganyu... She seems fun, but I'm not certain I want to waste a guarantee pull on her when I'll prolly still end up using Tartaglia as my main Bow user.
