✨The Age of Darkness✨

(Sign-Ups)

A group of magical assassins have taken over the world and corrupted it into a darkness. Good magic has significantly weakened, though leaders of good magic have sacrificed their powers in order to bestow great power amongst few individuals. These individuals now are tasked with defeating the evil assassins and restoring the world to its former state, bringing peace and harmony back to earth.

Short Form for Side "To-be-killed" Mini-villains

These characters are all be evil and can be pretty powerful if you choose to make them so. Most of the time, they can be killed off but they should mostly be forgotten about unless you want to make them full characters.

♡ - Personality: He'll protect his friends or acquaintances with his life if needed. He can be harsh, but only to those who attempt to exploit him or harm somebody under his protection. He's difficult to befriend due to his past, but he's a friend for life once you do make him an ally.

♡ - Power(s): He can cast a barrier that can absorb immense amounts of power, but it does have limits. When those limits are reached, the shield will shatter, sending a retaliatory strike in a random direction. More often than not, it's towards the attacker. But sometimes it backfires and causes friendly fire, hence Barron's missing arm.
♡ - Other Abilities: While not especially adept at lifting and moving objects, he's agile and quickly takes charge of situations that are leaderless. He's clever and cunning, but often fumbles on his words midway through a sentence.

♡ - Appearance: Kendall stands at 6'1" with a slim, slightly muscular build. He has olive toned skin, green eyes and bleached blonde hair with his natural dark brown roots. His hair is somewhat wavy, mainly straight and reaches below his ear, often times it is tied back into a messy manbun if he's feeling lazy. His typical outfit would be regular fit blue jeans with holes in the knee, pinrolled at the ankle with a tucked in white t-shirt, a green and black flannel opened up over it and white shoes. He also has a small scar over the arch of his eyebrow.
♡ - History: Kendall is the younger between himself and his half-brother, Koda. They were raised just outside of Chicago and both were taught magic by his mother at a young age. He became well versed in his powers and in combat, often practicing magical and physical sparring with his brother, using his gymnastics skills to his advantage as well. After discovering his brother had betrayed he and his mother, he was attacked by his brother which resulted in the scar above his eye.
♡ - Personality: Kendall is very driven and determined. Because of this, he tends to be very stubborn and doesn't know when to quit or how to take "No" for an answer. After his brother left to join evil, he comes off somewhat cold and doesn't entirely trust anyone because of how close the two of them were before being betrayed. He tends to be short tempered, a trait he adapted from his brother.

♡ - Power(s): Telekinesis - can be triggered with his hands or eyes. Able to create waves of telekinetic energy though this strains his magic and tires him out drastically. Similarly, he can telekinetically deviate attacks or, with enough energy and concentration, block them by creating a small telekinetic barrier. Due to how much concentration is needed to do this, he often prefers to block attacks with other objects. He is also able to use telekinesis on his own body to allow him to be more swift in combat and can stimulate levitation for a few seconds.
Electrokinesis - create electricity and lightning from his fingers or hands. Unlike most electricity, his is colored red. He is able to concentrate the electricity into a powerful beam, though this will literally burn him out if he does it too much. He often prefers to combine both his Telekinetic and Electrokinetic abilities together by creating balls of electricity to throw as projectiles.

♡ - Power(s): Pyrogenism - shoots beams of fire from his hands or feet or streams of fire from his mouth. Koda's fire is colored blue when coming from his body, though once it begins to burn something/someone, it's its normal red/orange color. He prefers to shoot the fire from his hands, considering it burns his throat if he does it out of his mouth too often.
Blasting - with a flick of his hands, Koda is able to set off tiny explosions in wherever his hands are aimed at. It can be a person, though most of the time he will blast them causing them merely to knock backwards. If he charges a blast fast enough, he could explode large-scaled things though as he's charging a blast he becomes vulnerable and has to recharge the ability after too much use.

♡ - History: Oh boy, Aelin is a person who's been through a lot, her life a mirage of tragic endeavors and deadpan promises that more often than not border a deceptive plan. All of her life is a lie, if you want to endure the same amount of bleak pessimism that she seems to take for granted. Aelin's childhood was a wild one, and not exactly ideal; a coldly realistic foreshadowing for what was yet to come. The story is perhaps one that's been told far too often to the same audience, to the point where we know the ending and the beginning by heart. Aelin's mother was horribly submissive, as far as the girl knew, though it might be fair to say that Penelope Clarke didn't play that large of a role in her half-daughter's life.

It was a nasty fact of life that Aelin isn't the true biological daughter to Penelope Clarke and Antonius Crane. It made her life a living hell. Penelope and Antonius had two children before, Deimos and Khione, a witty and charismatic pair. Aelin very much appreciated the twin's company, and they brought joy to their parent's eyes. But while her birth was considered a blessing, Aelin (formerly Demaris), oh, she was a bastard. A product of late-night desires. It was plain as day from the moment she opened her pale grey-green eyes. It is a great guess to see that Penelope had done this out of spite, perhaps because Demaris looked nothing like any of her parents. Penelope had cheated on him, giving life to the one thing she knew would bring her husband to the brink or even cut off their marriage altogether. Demaris was the last rope, snapped right from when she took her first gulp of air. Antonius was - and had always been - a drunken man, one who spat on his kids, one who beat his wife, one who only cared about himself.

Not only did she inherit her father's propensity for brutality during this period, but she also developed a hateful view of her father as she grew older. Nevertheless, even with how weak her mother was, Penelope was more than willing to point her daughter on the right path, giving them love and moral guidance. Nevertheless, her presence gradually faded from Demaris's life as the girl aged, leaving her at the full mercy of her father's violent tendencies. At the age of eleven, Demaris snapped. In the dead of night, before the sun could grace the skies, she was gone, gathering what she could, breaking open the window and leaping out into the strange cold world beyond. Cunning as she was, Demaris was careful not to leave one trace of her behind, and for all she knew, Antonius was happy to see her go. It sent her world into a spin, to transition from home to homeless, from wealthy to poor. Taking upon multiple aliases by day, Aelin dabbled in odd jobs, working herself to the bone to make ends meet. She never told anyone who she truly was, and sometimes had to pretend to be three or four different people at some point.

It wasn't until three years later that Aelin discovered her abilities. The manipulation of pain, who would've guessed. A malefactor of her rage and tortured soul, the product of vengeance embodied. It had many different applications of course, from killer to healer and nurse.

♡ - Personality: Aelin is quite different from what one expects from a normal assassin, yet in many ways she does seem to embody the feral and malevolent air that one would expect of a person of her rank. It's a line many speak of in hushed tones, yet few are willing to truly walk it. Aelin is one of those people, coolly treading that careful line that divides light from dark, good from evil. Quite cultured and dignified, but there is a storm - a turbulent mass - that roils through her blood, that pours from her in waves. Cunning and deft in her skill, and haughty in attitude to the point of reclusion, Aelin is not a very approachable individual. She is a very broody, cynical and sardonic individual, always surrounded by a strange darkness. Being incredibly strong-willed and defiant has turned her into a live wire unable to comprehend the question of loyalty or sympathy; a more callous and dispassionate individual has never trod this earth. Her emotions are - like her - cold shadows of reality, her fear a calculating self-preservation complex, her selfishness a tainted crystal of perception.

Aelin is not a girl who was blessed with patience, and this has led her to many dead ends. She doesn't appreciate having to wait or to manipulate others for long periods of time. She takes what she wants with primal diligence, answering to no higher up. She is unnervingly quiet and enigmatic; most mistake her for a shadow or a snake rather than a person.

♡ - Alignment: Evil ; Lawful evil to be specific. While she is inherently malevolent as an assassin, she does follow the customs and laws of the area. She believes in an order of all living beings, this being strongest first, and weakest last. Aelin is content to follow societal laws should they benefit her, and is remarkably courteous, however, she will circumvent the law if they start to go against her plans.

♡ - Power(s): Odynokinesis - the simulation of pain. Aelin can induce a near crippling pain in the nerves of her opponents, though this pain is never fatal. This pain can be emotional, psychological or physical, though she really only specializes in physical or psychological pain; emotional pain is too complicated. Additionally, Aelin can use odynokinesis to diminish the pain and suffering that she or other people feel. But that doesn't mean that the pain is taken away completely, merely suppressed in an illusory manner. Should Aelin use this for too long, she can quickly burnout, which usually results in overexertion like symptoms. The first symptoms of a burnout is an intense stabbing feeling in her gut, similar to stitches but worse, as well as dizziness. Odynokinesis is a symbol of Aelin's malevolence and aggression, the dark, raw, fury that seems to drive each of her deeds. Her odynokinesis is also very well in tune with her emotions; more positive emotions tends to weaken it, and more intense emotions drive it.

♡ - Power(s): Atmokinesis - the manipulation of the weather. Aelin is able to control the elements, be it snow, wind, rain or even the lightning at times. She has an enhanced connection to the air itself, able to sense changes in the air that may forewarn of a change in weather. She is also able to summon various meteorological patterns (rain, wind, hail, lightning, snow, sleet, fog, and temperature changes.) Not only can these do magical damage, but she is able to use these to confuse or disorient her opponents. Aelin's atmokinesis reflects her shattered state of mind, her instability and her derangement, the broken pieces of herself that won't ever be put back together lest her scars come to the surface. She's fighting her own demons still, and its a war that takes all her patience to win.

But to put it briefly, Roxanne is endowed with advanced empathy - allowing her to sense what another person, creature, or animal feels at will. Her ability also allows her to detect levels of psychological and emotional duress. Roxanne can increase, decrease, or even manifest new levels of specific emotions in terms of manipulation. Roxanne's ability, however, has setbacks. She must maintain focus for at least a few minutes before trying to use her powers.

Additionally, Roxanne's emotional state can influence her power, making this especially volatile. Due to her current turbulent and unpredictable emotional state, this ability has become a rather loose cannon. She can still control it, but it isn't in the best condition. She's working on it, promise. Her abilities could become crippling - to someone else that isn't her, that is. But Roxanne isn't there yet. She's called the soothsayer anyway because she is an emotional cleric more dedicated to healing than hurting.

His father worked for the assassins, and used Rey as the final test subject for his final project, to create a permanent drug, that allows is user to use any power, with unlimited use. However, The drug didn’t work as planned. Instead of giving Rey the power to use any power for a unlimited time, it gave Rey access to random powers that he can’t choose. His father, seeing what he did, had a change of heart, after seeing what he did to his own son. He blew up the research facility as a bid to destroy the drug and prevent it’s use. He tried to escape, but the assassins caught him. Rey escaped, with a box of pills which grants him temporary power resistance from others, which was his father’s own power. In order to save his father, he must now join the very organisation which his father tried to help destroy.
♡ - Personality: Usually timid, but will change depending on what power he got.

♡ - Power(s): Randomness: he basically gets a random power that ranges from weak - normal strength, no OP powers. His personality changes depending on what power he got. He has really, really bad luck, so he almost never gets anything good. He can’t have more than 1 power at a time, but can switch to another random one. If the power is from another person who existed before, he will gain the intelligence/ bravery of that person. His physical skills will also change accordingly
Manifest: Ingesting someone else’s dna will increase the chance of getting that person’s power on the next time he uses randomness. He can use this ability as up to 3 times a day, but cannot manifest the same person’s power more than once per day. Rey avoids using this as much as possible
♡ - Other Abilities: He has fast reflexes, but no hand to hand combat skill, so will try other less honorable tactics.

A few freckles also dot her cheeks, which are slim with high cheekbones, but not enough to give her that supervillain queen look. Her hair is dark brunette and curled into circles, tied into a high ponytail at her back. Her torso is covered by a white shirt, which is further obscured by a tight navy blue military coat, fastened with golden buttons, proudly showing off her perfect form. White leggings cover her lower half, with high black boots for footwear.
♡ - Personality: [I'm very bad at describing personalities, so I'll keep this short]
Camille is mischievous, enjoying teasing and making jokes about people for fun. She's generally a friendly person, seemingly unaffected by the conspiracy that has overthrown the world, still keeping her morbid sense of humour and unfailing truthfulness. Slightly self-centered. Her biggest flaw is probably her ego, and her tendency, when not in combat, to let her guard down. She's also a complete blabber mouth, so would spill secrets without meaning to, and doesn't know when to give up or how to admit defeat.
♡ - Alignment: neutral [if that's alright]; she helps both sides, usually with small tasks. If she must choose, she'd probably go for the one that benefitted her most.
♡ - Power(s):
1. She can conjure blades from seemingly nothing, and control them using only her mind. She has lethal accuracy with these, and each blade she summons is sharpened to the point that it would draw blood if anything was simply placed on it. She can also control blades that were already in existence, though these need to be within a certain distance for her to reach them. Blades are counted as any sharpened metal; wooden or plastic swords will not answer to her.
2. She can, at any given moment, enhance her senses tenfold, but prefers not to use this as the wave of sensations tends to overwhelm her.
♡ - Other Abilities: highly skilled at tactical warfare, combat with blades [obviously], and fluently speaking French [her birthplace and home for thirteen years]. also able to ride a horse.

♡ - Appearance: Lauri stands at 5'7'' and is in healthy and decent shape. Though he's not overly muscular and strength isn't his greatest asset. He has annoyingly blue eyes and dark blonde hair, sporting an overgrown undercut with the longer locks on the top of his head haphazardly tied into a very manly bun. In addition to that, he's most often seen with heavy stubble as he can be quite forgetful with personal grooming and has made peace with his varyingly haggard appearance.

His clothing style is primarily concerned with function and isn't coated in bright colors or pictures most of the time. As long as he's warm or cool enough, nothing is restricting his movements, and he has pockets, Lauri's good.

♡ - History: There's nothing particularly interesting about Lauri's childhood. Him and his little brother grew up in decent comfort in the care of their parents. The most dramatic happenstance in their lives at that time was their parents' divorce and their primary caregiver, their mother, remarrying sometime later. The divorce wasn't messy and the man trying to balance stepping up as parental figure without making it come off as trying to replace their father was objectively a good person. However, preteen Lauri had some major difficulties with adjusting to these new changes in his life and would often withdraw into himself, distancing himself from his family much to their worry.

Come his teens years and he also began struggling with what he should do with his life. Trying to figure out your life while you still haven't re-figured out your place in your family isn't the easiest feat for a teenager. He wanted to help people, that much was clear and it was a good enough starting point. Going to the medical field surely seemed like a viable option and that's what he was planning when he came across a different path to a similar destination. Curative magic.

Lauri came across a discreet faith healer whose healing in actuality had nothing to do with faith. Eeva Orava was a recluse with local superstitions about her floating about. Some shrugged it correctly as magic, others wanted to believe the even more supernatural rumours, and some dismissed it as hogwash or a straight up scam. Lauri decided to get to the bottom of it and there was no convincing him otherwise after he had made up his mind.

Following truth revealing schemes and shenanigans, Lauri found himself a mage's apprentice sworn to secrecy. Being old, Eeva wanted to pass her gifts down to the right person but didn't have descendants she'd deem worthy. Lauri was good enough for her though. The healing magic he was given and being taught to master came with limitations and pain, while the world has way more ailments than one person can ever hope to tackle. Lauri of course agreed to be discreet and not go around healing people without her approval. However, the more he learned the harder it became to ignore a person in pain when you knew you could help. So, slowly, he started slipping. Surely, healing a child's scraped knee here and curing someone's chicken pox there couldn't possibly hurt.

But it did. Eventually, word spread and people became aware of who he was when Lauri was in his early twenties. It didn't take long for him to be presented with a "job opportunity" of his lifetime. He'd be set up with a clinic of his own people would be charged to see him and he'd get paid instead of working minimum wage as cashier and getting hurt for other people on his free time. Somewhat blinded by the grand image of being sort of great martyr-healer figure, Lauri accepted and moved into the hustle and bustle of a bigger city in a bit of an uncharacteristic move.

At least he somewhat kept his promise and Eeva wasn't roped into it with him so she could spend her last years in peace. Though she was less than pleased by the development and cautioned him against it.

She was right of course as problems began popping up not soon after Lauri took his proud position.

No, I can't regrow your leg.
No, I can't make your burn scars go away.
No, I can't revive the dead.
No, I can't perform miracles!

But the ones he couldn't help were the lesser issue. The real problem was the people he could help, or more accurately, the number of them was. There's always another in line after he's done with one and any hint of him wanting a day off was met with judgement from some. How dare he want to lay around doing nothing all day when people are hurting and he could easily stop it?

How selfish.

So Lauri was stuck between a rock and a hard place when it became evident to him that he couldn't keep doing this. He might've been a good person who wanted to help people but he wasn't enough of a good person to be in near-constant pain for the rest of his life to continue helping people. So, he wanted to quit and that predictably didn't go over well.

There were those who were sympathetic to his plight and those who thought he shouldn't be allowed to just stop. A bit of an ethical debate was sparked. Is it justifiable to pretty much torture one person to save the lives of many others?

Lauri didn't stick around to ponder for long, however, and took the first opportunity to skip town and the whole damn country after he had a plan in place. He started over by going back to his minimum wage jobs elsewhere and started to go by Larry to better fit in so he wouldn't stand out as much. Adjusting for another drastic change in his life was a rough period regardless of how much planning he could have done but somehow he did achieve some sort of normalcy and rhythm in his life once more. He still misses his family and home he left behind however.

He'd still patch up the occasional scraped knee though because he just can't help himself.

♡ - Personality: At his core, Lauri is a good, loyal, and dutiful man. ...Up to a point. Despite being a bit of a doormat as he finds it hard to say no to a person in need and can be rather easily guilt-tripped, Lauri will eventually do what's best for himself if mistreated, taken advantage of or taken for granted. Though it'll likely take a while and he'll most likely feel guilty about it. Because he does take joy in helping others and goes out of his way to keep his word without seeking for reward or recognition for it. In fact, he can be a rather quiet individual and doesn't express strong emotions often, preferring to keep a low profile. Perhaps it's just his introversion, anxiety, or natural caution in action in a social setting.

He really prefers doing the whole shebang of recon and thorough planning from plan A to plan Z rather than jump into action with a half-baked idea of a plan. Although, it might be more that he's borderline unable to act without a decent plan. Inflexible would be a good word to describe Lauri. Once a plan has been set, that is the plan and he finds it really difficult to adjust the plan to unexpected curve-balls or setbacks and can't improvise to save his life. In short, he's the last person you'd want to ask for advice on the fly when things go awry.

♡ - Power(s): Health Manipulation - Lauri possesses the ability to sense the health of anyone around him and the cause of any decline (such as injuries or diseases) as well as heal and harm others.

Healing - By touching an injured person, Lauri can speed up the healing progress to the point of instantly closing wounds. However, as he's only speeding up the natural healing progress, scarring still occurs and he can't restore lost limbs. Though if he had both the arm and its owner at hand immediately after the person lost it, it would be possible for him to reattach it.

There is no limit to how much he can theoretically heal but, unfortunately, this healing process is not pleasant for Lauri. Healing an injury or disease causes him pain in accordance with how severe the ailment is and, as he's only human, there's only so much he can take regardless of how much of a saint or martyr he may or may not aspire to be.

Harming - To heal himself, Lauri can do the reverse: Touch another person and cause them pain in order to mend his own health. So this is obviously a bit of a limited application as he has to be injured to use it and the punch he can pack is limited by how injured he is.

However, he has never used this part of his power and even though he knows it's theoretically possible, he has never had any interest in ever attempting it. Thus there's no knowing if he could even pull it off under pressure.

♡ - Other Abilities: Thanks to the usage of his power, Lauri has developed a higher pain tolerance than most. He's also quick on his feet even though his wits might not be as swift to take full advantage of it.

♡ - History: There’s not much about Geo that is of interest, at least to him there isn’t. He grew up in a seemingly caring family and was the only child. His parents would often spoil him due to living a somewhat wealthy life, but he was raised to be modest and caring. He was always told that a good heart would get you far in life, no matter the circumstances. He had maintained this lifestyle all throughout his life, even after the horrible tragedy that had sent his parents to hell when he was 15.

You see, his parents were liars, manipulators, monsters. They had used their son to make them feel better about themselves, to cover up their sickening deeds. They thought that simply raising a child would wash them of their sins and set them free from their burdens. They manipulated Geo to be the person that would be the face of their family, forcing him to do what they asked in order to clear their name. He was taught to always listen to other people’s requests, as long as it was harmless, but ignore everything when it came to the mother and father. Whenever he had saw through the lies and deceptions, he would be tortured until his eyes were dry of tears. All their manipulations kept him from hating them, but instead love them to no end. It wasn’t until he had learnt about his ability at 14 that the blindfold started to slip off and he saw the truth, but his love remained. His parents had always tried to suppress his ability, telling him that having such ability would make him power hungry and a monster... He did not use his ability again until about a year later when he tried to tell his parents that he would like to move out soon, as he already had a job cleaning houses for quite a large bit of money. His parents were so obsessed with using him that they refused to let him leave, but he defended himself. After a fight that eventually got physical, he became enraged and used his power, and ended up killing them. Ever since then he has been living alone in a small apartment building, working for other people.

One more thing, he suffers from disassociated identity disorder due to the trauma he had experienced. His parents also tried to suppress this, due to it being able to “ruin his true nature”. He hardly ever experiences it due to what it takes to trigger. This other personality is cold and ruthless, you could almost mistake him for one of the assassins.
♡ - Personality: He always puts others above himself, doing anything he can to make sure that another’s requests or needs are always fulfilled. He doesn’t respond well to deep questions or anything negative, he just tries to get out of it as quickly as possible. One important thing to note is that he always tries not to talk about the assassin problem, as it reminds him of the burden that was placed on his shoulders. Other than the things mentioned above, he is quite laid back and relaxed, hardly has a care in the world.
♡ - Alignment: Good
♡ - Power(s): Able to manipulate soil, gemstones, and stone. He can also become the earthly material he touches if he wishes, but it takes a lot out of him and he has little to none of his senses while in that form (i.e if he touches soil, he can become a dust storm or something of the sort. If he touches a gem, he can become little shards of that gem). He can use these materials as weapons, protection, transportation, or even as temporary structures or items. Of course, due to what his parents taught him and his fear of his power, he almost never uses it and tries his best to live a normal life

♡ - Personality: Esmerelda is as sarcastic as you can get. She's got a witty comment about everything and isn't afraid to speak her mind. But if you make her angry, she'll tear into you verbally. She isn't awful about it, but that's one of the biggest reasons why she doesn't make friends easily. She is one of those people who share their opinion about everything.
♡ - Alignment: Good/Evil-Evil
♡ - Power(s): Magical-She can temporarily know the truth about anyone but in certain conditions. She needs to be making eye contact with them, and she can only use her power if she holds that contact. This truth can be any kind of statement, but one has to ask a question to get a truthful answer. She cannot ask the question, and it pains her to hold it for too long. However, up to three questions can be asked at a time before she has to break the connection.
♡ - Other Abilities: Non-magical-She is extremely fast and can run for long distances without getting tired. However, she is human and can only go for so long.
