You're a student in the Academy of Magic. There are different classes, including all the normal classes you have in a normal high school. They are however a bit different, as for example in history, you learn about the history of great wizards, evil witches, and extinct magical creatures. There are also different additional classes. For example, there is MC, a.k.a. Magic Control. There, you learn to control your magic.

In retrospect, going to same High School as their best friend (The pair of them already knew each other so long they were damn near common law married.) seemed like a wildest dream come true... Of course, there was a problem- Abdul was the problem.

The pair walked through the unfamiliar halls, searching for Room 119. Sasha was carrying two duffel bags, one significantly smaller, and their other arm slung around Abdul's shoulder, ushering him forward.
"Abdy." Sasha shook their head "We arrived here less than twelve minutes ago. People might stare but its astronomically impossible for them to hate you already."
"I'm sorry- It's just... Really weird? This place is giant and everybody has that r-rich and jock feeling around them, You know?"
Abdul was clutching a small, cheap-looking cage, to his chest. It was made out of two parts connected by a see-through tunnel. The upper one was a typical cage with a wheel, water bottle and a bowel with orange flooring made out of plastic. The lower one was a dose full of woodshaving. The first thing Abdul will do after settling down will be checking on Cabbage. The poor girl wasn't used to transportation and Abdul was shaking like a leaf- That certainly didn't comfort her.

Toc looked around, as she entered the school. Suddenly Nocturna bumped into her. "Oh my god, I'm so sorry!" She blushed crimson as she ran away.
"No, its okay!" Toc shouted after her. oh well... She thought. By the way, where i sMax?

Maybe Abdul just wasn't set for public high school kind of life. But then, it's not like Sasha pushed him into it!... Well. At least in their viewpoint. Maybe they pressured him into it by being soo enthusiastic about the whole thing? They might know Abdul for over 9 years but seeing into his head was like trying to stare into a muddy river. You never know what could jump out.

"That's just your anxiety speaking. Did you take your meds today?" Feeling Abdul flinch, Sasha quickly decided to change a subject. He probably didn't and Sasha should talk him into taking them right now but they just couldn't bring themselves to do it. Not now.
"Look at the bright side, there is a possibility that you might find another plant-enthusiasts like yourself around here. There might even be that glasshouse kind of thing in the campus, I dunno."
"I-I think that's called Greenhouse, Sasha... But maybe you are right. I could even join a Gardener Club, if there is one." There was a ghost of a smile on Abdul's face and Sasha couldn't be happier about it. Maybe they could both survive several next years.
"There's my Tree-Boy, Shoot for the stars!" They brought him a little closer in a side hug, Abdul not even trying to resist. Instead, he let out a weak but honest laughter that disappeared too quickly for Sasha's liking.. They both knew that it's not going to happen and that Abdul will spend most of his time in the dorm but trust is cruel, it's better to not face it directly when you don't have to.

The passing students probably think they are a couple- Apparently, many people think that including just about whole Abdul's family circle- Gross. Well, Sasha doesn't really give a damn.

Toc looked at them. "Oh, well they look like friends..."
She sighed and got her phone out.
"Max, are you coming?" d.
"Well, I"m already there. So see you at... 12:00?"

Nocturna crept into a corner.

Abdul doesn't consider himself an affectionate person. No, No, No- He is downright opposite of it. His shuttering would most just creep people out, and his palms are always sweaty so he cant touch somebody because that would be gross- No. Not this mindset today. Today is a big day, an opportunity to start all over- Or opportunity to mess everything up again because, at the end of the day, it's still him. He's the root of this all.

But he has Sasha and that's already more than he deserves. So he shouldn't have that bad feeling that something about to go wrong deep down in his gut while he stares at the closed doors of his dorm, right?
Abdul reached into his pocket for a dorm key, that was given to him just mere moments ago, but Sasha took it out of his hands in the flash, knowing well that Abdul would drop it to the floor with his hands shaking like that.

While his best friend clearly had the best intentions, Abdul couldn't help himself and at that moment he felt soo small, wishing that the walls around him could just absorb him so he wouldn't have to stand here anymore. He cant even open doors, a basic human task. How did he sink soo low? Or maybe, he was always such a failure. He couldn't say that he was surprised.

The clock rang 12:00.
Toc ran out to the fountain.
Max looked at her. "wow, you're late." He laughed cheerfully.
"well, we're in seperate dorms." Toc answered, looking at his hair sceptically.

The doors didn't budge and Sasha was fully prepared to kick them out, all while Abdul begged them to do anything but that. Finally, Just when Sasha was losing last threads of their patience, the door slid open. The previous owner probably used some low-leveled prank spell on the door. Amateur.

The room would appear simple to any other person- Small but just enough to house two people.
The walls were painted with soft baby blue and there was enough sunshine, coming through a single window, to enlighten the whole room.
In a left corner was a bunk bed with white sheets and a privacy curtain for the lower bunk that matched the wall. Next to it, was a small nightstand made out of birch wood with a potted lavender on top of it.
If somebody tried to open the doors fully, they would hit a shelving- There were only three books, obviously encyclopedias. Such a look made both Abdul's and Sasha's hearts hurt, they will have to fix that as soon as possible.
Strangely, there seemed to be only one desk, opposite of the Bunk bed and under the window. Behind it was a computer chair, its black color being way too dark for this room.
There were also white doors- probably leading into a bathroom- and... Several Glow-In-The-Dark Stars on the ceiling. Huh.

Sasha immediately dumped both bags on the lower bunk but Abdul just stayed in the doorway, one hand almost instinctively curling around the handle of the doors as if he could collapse in any moment. But he was just taking it all in- A whole room all to himself and Sasha. No siblings, no parents just randomly barging in uninvited.
The walls were painted without any cracks and the floor didn't creak when stepped on. The whole room felt comfortable and maybe, with a little bit of work, it could become something special. Something like home.

Max suddenly barged in. "Yo, roommate! The dorm managers made a mistake, and we're in the same dorm."

As if the entrance of Max was a sound of a shotgun, Abdul stumbled forward. His life flashed before his eyes because now he is going to fall and probably break his skull and it will be a mess and it would traumatize Sasha and he cant do that-
But Sashas reflexes were already trained to this kind of situation and they took one quick long-legged stride, looping an arm around his torso to steady him. They shot Max a glare that could rival forest fires.

"Did you ever heard about the concept of knocking on the door before entering, Geez!" They snapped, baring their teeth. They carefully swiveled Abdul around so he could take a look at a newcomer. Abdul raised his hand as if to give a hesitant wave but then let it fall down again, apparently changing his mind at the last second.

Max raised his eyebrow. "To my own dorm?" God, do they have anxiety or something?

"Its called basic human decency. Maybe you should try it someday." Sashas shoulders were squared and they stood tall. Max was towering over Sasha by solid three inches but that didn't make Sasha any less menacing as their eyes never quite left his. One thing was sure- They were on the defensive, as if Max had an intention of murdering them in their sleep.

Abdul winced, no matter how much he adores Sasha this kind of behavior still keeps troubling him. No wonder that they only had eachother for most of their lives- Socialization was probably Abduls least favorite thing (And it was very difficult. Very) and nobody wanted to spend enough time around Sasha to properly get to know them... Or at least he thought. Maybe they had a friend he didn't know about? Why wouldn't they tell them?

But he will not let it go way too far this time. He wiggled out of her grasp, Sashas eyes widening in surprise and they finally glanced at him with a questioning look. "
"I-I'm sorr-" Abdul stopped and took a deep breath to compose himself, hoping that for once in his life it will prevent his voice from shaking. "Eh, what d-do you mean? What mi- There is a way to fix it, r-right? Can we request a change or- like that?"

Max ignored Sasha.
"I actually already asked. They refused."
He raised his eyebrow at Sasha.

Suddenly someone knocked on the door. Toc slid the door open. Standing next to her boyfriend, she was really quite tiny, with only 158 cm of height. She looked quite regal.
"Umm... Am I interrupting something?" She looked at them.


Max sighed. "No," he looked meaningly at Sasha, "we were simply conversing about how the dorms have been changed."
Oh god, they really are much too protective, I just wanted to greet them!

Well, at least Toc came. For some reason she always solves everything. And everyone loves her. I wonder why...

Why couldn't things go easy for once? Because its Abdul, that's why. Nothing can ever go easy for him. Sometimes he wished that he could just stop or at least slow the time so he could gather all his thoughts for once- But then he remembers that having too much time is a source of most of his problems.

"They cant just refuse something like that! Isn't school supposed to create a comfortable environment for students or whatever propaganda they spill in news?! Abdy and I specifically requested to share a dorm and they acc-"
"H-Hey, Look. It's really not big of a deal. " Abdul cut them off. But it was. This was never their plan. They were supposed to go through High School together, keeping each other sane and lending notes. And then they would graduate and... Then what? Build a Coffe Shop as they always used to dream of as children? But that was all it was- A Childhood Dream, too far to reach now.
"And look, s-somebody knows how to knock. Maybe there's hope after all?" He added and went to place Cabbages cage on a table. As the mouse sensed the steady wood underneath its home, she went out of its hiding in woodshaving and quickly scuttered to the upper floor, very enthusiastic about getting the much-needed exercise on the Hamster Wheel.

Sasha just kind of stood there, mouth slightly opened and mixed emotions passing on their face. This... was unusual. They would expect Abdul to freak out, maybe even spiral down to a panic attack. Abdul returned to stand by their side, reassuringly tugging at their sleeve.
"I don't, I don't think we really introduced ourselves, Right? I'm Abdul -and this is Sasha. Sasha goes by they/them pronouns."

Sasha just nodded, unable to construct a proper sentence.
