It looks very good too. I like how you didn't do any lineart, however your shading looks amazing without it!
Finished the Agate:
Not sure how to feel about it...

@lizzanga, yeeeeah, the Turtwig is like a smidge bigger than the Piplup and Rowlet, but the Cubchoo definitely throws the size thing out of proportion (last minute addition at 2am). Makes the snowy footsteps confusing size-wise, but hindsight is 20/20 for sure.
"Bingpot."
@Nev Ooh, is that a king slime from Terraria? It looks great so far!
@Meme Dang, you've improved so much!
@Lizz That Advent calendar entry look beautiful!
I finally got some art done!
A character I designed for a story I'm making:
And some Pokemon adopts I have up on my DeviantArt!
critiques as far back--
@teydey
the colors on the body are stunning! it's glowing so prettily :0
@aki
c r a y o n b r u s h it looks super cute ;u;
@argentis
the claws on the rowlet look a bit off?? it's grabbing from the top, but not the part where it's curving back, it looks like it might drop it--
@nev
the color blending looks really cool!! you might want to erase some of the edges where the lines aren't smooth, but that's just personal opinion
@meme,
using the line tool and curve tool makes it look really blocky, i suggest doing it freehand if you want it to look a bit more even/realistic :0
@corvo
oof i love the design!
@Meme looks good! As far as critiques go, you might want to make the shoulders more visible, and the cape more.. relaxed? Gravity? I'm not quite sure how to describe it. (Take my advice with a grain of salt, please)
@lizzagna Those look beautiful!!
@Corvo Good job, everything looks nice!
I feel like my critiques won't mean as much because I'm probably one of the youngest people here :'D
Here's a little wip I have. I really like it so far, so I'm really looking for advice as to how I can make it better before I go to lineart.
...Should I make something for the advent calendar?
I did sum small things, nothing really important
maybe i'm not online enough
anyway, i'm LATE with responses o3o
@Twin
haha, thank you
though lineart would come first :3
or well, at least fleshing it out better
i love the art you've made for toma
such nice green colours o3o
@Dcasom
woah!
so colourful!
it looks awesome!
@edgy MCedge
HELLO?!
THAT'S SO GOOD?!
BRUH
and dragons are like an amalgamation of creatures, not just lizards o3o
and thank you! i'm glad the scary/intimidating part came through!
itwascutoffbecauseofroughsketchandmebeingalazybumhaha
aahhhh, you are too kind wahahaha
@aki
omg, that literally took me a while
first i thought you just said it was bad, until it clicked, haha
thank you though!
your art looks awesome as well as per usual~~
love the bird [though the bidding was insane]
@Argentis
i glad you like that piece so much!
the finished thing
oh boi
i got test week this week, so i don't have time to draw [sadly enough]
and i got some bigger drawing projects on my plate
so it's on standby for now ^^'
~~~~~~~
Ok! So I was looking through some drawings I did and I found the first piece of art that I did with my Wacom table and then looked at my Halloween drawing and it looks so different! I have improved a lot! I want you guys to compare them and tell me things that have changed that I might have not noticed.
Then
Now
Warning gore
Aaa- so much arts from lovely peeps too- ;o;
Here are some of my recent adopts I've made;
Some other art ;w;
but for now
for Nymphrasis
some critiques
@Shadow, you've definitely improved! I would work on adding more detail into the background, though.
@meme, all of your work is very, um.. the positions are off, is what I mean. Like for the Agate, it looks like you used the mirror tool. I wouldn't really use that since almost nothing is /that/ symmetrical.
@toma, I would work on making yours lines a bit smoother!
@Mya, aa that looks really good! I'd love to see the finished piece
@rest, keep up the good work~
it's a doodlei made in class today when i couldn't focus anymore
i'm working on a bigger project, hence me drawing anti, haha
[no critiques plz]
@shadow
woah!
you've improved a lot!
keep going~!
@furret
that is some hecking good pixelart
it looks dope!
critiquing back as far as i can see so sorry if i miss ;;!
@*shadow*
woah thats a big improvement! the things that you can work on are the shading and how you do it- and probably how you do the background? because compared to the main focus, the background is a little bit dull and too simple :^
@alexia
yesssss- i missed ur art :'D your style using the binary brush is so amazing ;;
@furr
that dittering dang- that design is really cute tbh >->
@tcdl
nice :0~! i cant draw humans that well so thats really good in my opinion :^
@aki
wAOWAOWAO thats like hecka realistic- did you use cross hatching to shade ;0?
@woopers
i'll be sure to check that out m8 :^^^
@meme
thats cool :0! tho i recommend not relying on the circle tool and line tools if possible :^^
@Nevvo, while I admire the attention
to detail in shading, I find I must ask the question "where be
light source?". It would appear to be from the top right
corner, according to the blue blob body, but then the crown
indicates something more of a center-according-to-viewer look.
@meme [1], Agate looks quite colourful! I think that's a good thing for Gem-sonas/OCs? (Thank you for the compliment, but it looks like I have not. Though there's always next year!) [2] Nice doodles. Someday they can become much much more. [3] I have no clue. And I'm going to assume that's what your favourite character looks like.
@lizzagna, Those chus look quite cute! Though I'm wondering if the pastel colours are a personal touch, or if that's how they're supposed to look? For the advent calendar entry: I have equal parts love and equal parts dislike for it, probably because I saw Naoma's entry which did the "looking up into the starry sky" to a better effect. It strikes me that you have a lot of empty space and a sort of "questionable light-source", which throws me off the most. (I'm in total agreement, the Cubchoo was added in last and it was also in the wee hours of morning aha. Didn't really feel like changing it at that point ^^; )
@Corvo, I feel like his design looks rather simple for a king's wardrobe, but I also have no idea what's going on in your story. I'll just say his pidgeon looks cute! The Combusken-adopt looks pretty rad though, cool colour choices! (Thank you for the compliment!)
@toma, Ew it's Tikithe fab dragon queen (And now that
you've pointed it out, I can't un-see it W H Y)
@Myamoo547, Can't wait to see your finished piece with that large mythical-ish creature. It looks decently fleshed out so far!
@*Shadow*, Your sense of anatomy for pokemon/anials appear to have improved. And you're using "thinner" lineart in the effort to look "less cartoon-y", I believe? It's what I noticed right off the bat between the "then and now" pictures.
@alexia99hunter, [1] as I don't really purchase adopts, I'd just have to say that they look nice. These adopts looked firmly established to me, as potential characters. [2] Aren't some of these reposts from your earlier post? I'd have to say for the new pieces, they look nice! Though for the orange-glow Umbreon, I'd suggest a more dithering/light-pixel glow, as using "blur" for the glow effect throws it off some, given that the rest of the body is more pixelated. I hope that makes sense!
@Furret, wait you can arts?! (I like how, despite the charcter being somewhat turned away from the viewer, you can see them smirking. That takes skill lol)
@Akiruru, I feel like this is a sketch for a marble statue. Looks really chiseled, and I like where you established your light source.
@arti, That's some really trippy hair, I really like it and I can't pin down why I like it, gah! But for your year-looking back piece, I think you've developed your style and refined it in the latter months.
