I would like for it to be possible in the Gem Exchange to trade gems with specific users. That way, if you set up a deal with someone via PM or a trade thread, someone else won't get to those gems before the person you originally wanted to trade with ^-^

I support! It's really inconveient when someone exchanges and it wasn't with the person you agreed with. You and the someone else may have gotten what you wanted, but the other person won't be very happy....

Supporting this. In case of very unequal exchanges (like trading a bunch of gems for one random gem and PD or something) there's not much of an issue, but the trick for those doesn't work for equal exchanges.

Alternatively to private exchanges, something like the GTS system where the initiator can choose between offers (or in this case exchange partners) might help. Though it would slow the process down needlessly in case of non-private exchanges...

I'd like to point out since I've been working with trading gems that I still support.

I think it'd be nice to set up private exchanges and I see no downside to it. Only reason I wrote this other post is because I didn't see my other one, ha whoops.

Support this 100% -- there have been times myself or my trading partner got cheated out of getting the gems we wanted to trade to each other all because the gem trades are public.
A private option would be wonderful idea.
