The raven sits on the ledge. The ledge covered in moss and twigs that the bird had carried so far. The buildings are tall and multicolored with moss and cracks spread across their walls, the grass is dead from the cold that evades it, and the sidewalks are cracked open from the steps people take. The cars pass quickly and loudly, the highway is thick with traffic. The streets are crowded, the fog is thick and suffocating, and the cold settles in. The raven sits and stares at all the noise, the people, the traffic, and the interactions. It sees a girl, her blonde pigtails blowing in the wind, skipping across puddles made the night before and sees the mother smiling as the little girl twirls and spins. Looking down to notice a couple on the bench staring at the sky talking about rain and the cold. Turning its head to see a dog running away from its owner to chase a squirrel. It watches as a cat that hisses at any passersby.
