Making something that upset you into something that makes you laugh helps some people
Some of these people making jokes might be doing it to comfort themselves, or they might feel like it's helping comfort others, and yeah, it's not helping a lot of people now

Look, the bottom line is that people are making jokes about the recent news because they think it helps soften the blow, or it's helping them cope with the news, it might offend you, but don't start throwing hands please, it's honestly not worth it
