This is something I've been wanting to start for a while now, its a Wednesday and Sunday newspaper for PokeHeroes! So in today's edition I'm going to explain how this will work. I will be looking for sponsorships within anyone who wanted to, I will also be looking for friends who want to help create the articles. If you choose to sponsor, at least 5k pd a week, then you will have an ad in this newspaper, if you don't want to sponsor you can pay for a one day ad that will be added for the next edition of the paper, also 5k pd per. Coupons from shops will only be included on the Sunday edition. please pp/pm me for any questions

This has been done a few times already with varying success. I don't like the idea of paid sponsorships to a non-staff member, and so while I love the idea of a newspaper, I don't know if paid advertisement is really the way to go?

people choose to support us because they like the program and they want to better get there shops out there, they don't do it because we tell them to. I am not trying to be rude but this is something ive been thinking of for a long time and I have no way of paying my editors if there is no income on the newspaper. in the real world you pay for newspapers that how the press in my hometown was. and that is the only way to keep them up and running. we give out monthly prizes to give the sponsored money back to the community that is helping us grow so if you could please reconsider your ideals here I would very much appreciate it.

edit:I really don't want this to come off as rude but the only reason I'm doing paid advertisment is so I can pay editors and bring in some income from the number of prizes I'm planning to give away over the next multiple months to years, thank you for the concern about it tho I def. needed to clarify why I'm doing it this way

Why is #SolutionForNuggets a trending hashtag?


With the ever-growing economy of PokeHeroes, users have had an issue with the economical value of nuggets. These nuggets are only obtainable through a daily login, trading with other users, and purchasing with real-time currency. The estimated pokedollar value of a nuggets is close to 3k, and as the market grows, so will its price.

These nuggets are commonly used to purchase memberships or flutes, both items unavailable through other means. These premium stock allow users to have a upper hand over other non-premium users. But, the catch is, premium membership can only be purchased through hardwork and patience, slowly gathering nuggets over time, or by using real-time currency to get the nuggets for it.

A few users have come up with ways by which nuggets could be more easily available to others, like increase the daily bonus from 2-5 nuggets to a minimum of 8-10, the number getting higher according to the trainee's level. An other way mentioned was by completing difficult, yet possible, daily tasks for them.

But as always, this opinion is not shared by all users. A few other users are content with the nugget’s economical value and stated that nuggets are supposed to be a benefit for users who can afford it.

With this debate being an ongoing discussion, it is to be expected that the issue will soon be addressed, and maybe, ideas get implemented. And, the longer the wait, the more expensive the nuggets get.

ShadowNinja_13: Welcome, Binks. Thanks for joining me today.

Binks: Thank you, it's great to be here.

ShadowNinja_13: I am sure most of the audience are familiar with the uprising debate about nuggets as both of us are. Personally, what is your opinion on this debate?

Binks: I agree that something needs to be changed in order to solve the issue, but I don't really agree with some of the methods that have been proposed.

There are many reasons why Nuggets have inflated so much:
- less users buying Nuggets with irl currency (inflation irl; as well as less active players)
- less sales on Nuggets/Premium

However, I think the issue is caused by the stonks system. Users will always try to profit, by selling higher than the stonks value. As users are always in need of nuggets, they will still buy these overpriced nuggets. This leads to the "recommended price" increasing all the time. There is no way it will decrease, without external intervention. Hiding the stonks price for nuggets may potentially help, as users will be able to decide on a fair value themselves, rather than the system. Before stonks was introduced, prices were pretty stable at 1500 PD each.

Even if there were more Nuggets being sold, I don't think that would change much. If I were to buy nuggets with irl money, then I’d try to make the most of them. If users are willing to buy for 2.7k PD, then I’d sell at 2.7k PD.

The problem is users are always willing to buy nuggets, no matter whether prices increase or not.

Interestingly, on this site, Nuggets are treated as both a currency and an item. When Nuggets are spent, [on Premium or other upgrades], they disappear from the game, rather than go back into circulation.

ShadowNinja_13: I see...is there a solution that you think might make the nugget value more fairer to newer users?

Binks: The Nugget issue has been left aside for such a long time, which means lowering the value will be a gradual process. If they were only at 2000 PD each, it would be easier.

I don't think there is a solution that will help newer users specifically, but I still think the best solution is influencing the prices to decrease. There are multiple methods to do this, such as: capping the value of nuggets, decreasing the USD price of nuggets, increasing the number of nuggets in circulation (e.g. through higher login streak rewards, daily tasks).

I personally don't think these are the best approaches, as it is unpredictable what may happen. With the caps, less users may sell nuggets, and it will be worse than before.

So I still think my solution of hiding the stonks prices for nuggets is worth a shot, as it won't drastically affect the economy - either prices stay at 2.7k, or users decide that a lower price is fairer (1.5-2k), and the price decreases

Either that, or simply setting the recommend price to a certain value (1500-2000 PD), so anything above is labelled as "expensive". Similar to a cap on prices, but still allows users to sell higher, it just means less users will buy those "expensive" nuggets.

ShadowNinja_13: While checking the hashtag feeds, it was evident that a few people disagree to the change in the nuggets value. Do you have anything to say on that?

Binks: I think the people who disagree with the change either:
- Have a lot of nuggets, bought at higher prices
- Have bought nuggets with irl currency

Changing the nugget value would inevitably lower their bag value. Just because some users won't like it doesn't mean the price needs to be ridiculously expensive for everyone else.

Some users disagree with putting a cap on nugget prices, which I also somewhat disagree with, for the same reasons stated. Capping prices would also be too sudden of a change, rather than a gradual one.

ShadowNinja_13: That was insightful. Thank you for joining me on this interview. Do you have any feedbacks in how I could have improved this?

Binks: Thanks for having me.

Only thing would be maybe send all the questions earlier, rather than have it as a "live" interview. Might easier for you, so you don't have to keep checking for replies.


Forgot to mention this earlier, but another issue with nugget prices is that it is affecting the SM market, as well as the barriers to entry for the Shadow market.

SMs require Premium to hunt. As the prices for nuggets have increased, then shouldn't the prices of SMs also increase? That hasn't been the case though. The stonks for SM Beedrill is 1.6M. I spent a lot more to hunt mine, and I would prefer to sell it for 3M. I have since reduced my offer to 2.2M, yet I still cannot find a buyer. It is no longer worth it to hunt SMs for profit.

The 4 Shadow Radar upgrades (that allow you to catch an extra shadow) cost 400 nuggets each. 1600 for all of them. Even if you plan to sell the shadows, it isn't worth it.
