Obviously I want to keep at least one Pokemon of each species, or one per variation (shiny, shadow, events...), but some Pokemons also vary in gender, like they look different and sometimes even have special effects based on their gender. And I don't have a Ditto. So right now, I'm keeping a male and a female of each species.

How do you guys go about this? Do you just keep the one with best IVs regardless of gender?

I just pick them randomly lol, but I priotitize OT. If both are OT then i'll pick the gender that suits the pokemon best: Gardevoir will be female, Toxtricity will be male, Beautifly female, etc

I am more likely to keep male Pokémon myself.

I’m not really into collecting every single variant, but if I did, I’d just keep both. Seems like torture for SMs, though.

Man, why do I feel there is some sexist drama about to break out here ;-;

Gender doesn't matter much to me, unless I need a specific one for a breeding pair. Since the Pokedex doesn't require to have both male and female species as registered, I don't mind which I keep.

it depends on the species, more masculine Pokémon I'd prefer be male and feminine Pokémon would be female with some deviation depending on the situation

It really depends on the Pokémon and what I’m using it for. Sometimes I go for female if I’m breeding or just like the design more, and other times mal
