Chapter 1: The notes

I sat down on the hill to read the papers: A new world, an apocalypse. I went home, heart heavy. A letter on my desk:

Post comes on Monday. It is Saturday. Dried blood, mud and plant sap. It is midnight. I sleep. Vision. I see:
The cat
Her words: Help zombies last house hidden danger help
I wake. Sweat. I convince myself it was a bad dream. Go to my desk. Sit down. Look outside. A light in the sky. Exact north. Around the north star. The new world. I run to the hill with my telescope. I can see it. I run home. On my desk:
The letter 2
Swirling. Portal. I touch it. The wind howls. My feet are wrenched up. Falling. I hit solid ground. Where am I? How did I get here? Why me? What for? Who sent it? When was I?

Chapter 2 Welcome

The air smells of death, blood, gore. Smells metallic. Zombies. A…no, the house. I have never been here. Yet. It is…familiar. The house. is different from what. I remember. Faces of zombies seem. familiar. I was here to help. A cat. Ash, 16BC. It all fits but yet. HOW. Get in the house. I run. I dodge. I’m inside. Why do I know where to go? The paintings look like. ME. Why. What was I. A clock shows 3a.m. Ghosts. Cold. Whispers. Mist. Laughter. Darkness. Silence. Something touches me. I black out.

Chapter 3 Rescue

I wake wrapped in webs. Giant spiders. I need to think. The web shakes as the spider nears. A shadow hurtles in. The spider shrieks. Spider blood everywhere. The shadow approaches. Its claws cut me down. I follow it. I see a small fire. Ash. The fire cat. “EXPLAIN”.

Chapter 4 Truth

"What do you know, young one?" The cat looked up, not even concerned about my anger. "WHAT WOULD I KNOW?!" Ash looked up, unfazed by my shouting. "Who you are." How would I know that? Why does Ash think I can? Does Ash even know who I am? Ash looks up “You are ……” Footsteps approach rapidly.
