Jack was working at the post office, it was finally lunch, when his phone beeped. He took his phone out of his pocket and..."Oh, a message from Evelyn!"
He quickly pressed the message and looked at it.
"Am I okay? Yeah, I'm fine," He wondered. Did something happen? Well no one had told him, and he wasn't prepared for what was going to happen next. He quickly texted back a reply
He ate his lunch slowly, wondering what Evelyn was going to say next.

“I got a weird call from the hospital asking if I knew a Fao? So I thought I’d check” Evelyn was tidying the house, since her family were on holiday and she’d chosen to stay home. She was just putting on a load of washing while messaging Jack.

He went back to eating when he got another message, he quickly checked again.
“I got a weird call from the hospital asking if I knew a Fao? So I thought I’d check” Evelyn had texted.
He was confused, the only two people in his family who lived in the same city were; his sister, and his mother. He quickly texted Evelyn back. "Did the person have a first name?" He texted.

Evelyn paused for a moment to think before replying, “No I don’t think they did? I can go and ask at the hospital if you want?” She had just put the last T-shirt from the pile away when she offered.

It was now 1:00 PM and his phone ringed again. It was another text from Evelyn. “No I don’t think they did? I can go and ask at the hospital if you want?” She had texted. He quickly texted something back. "Yeah, can you call the hospital back and ask? Thanks!" He then added; "It's kinda weird tbh, only my mother and sister live here lol" He texted.

Evelyn looked at her phone and typed in the hospital number, “I hope nothing too bad happened” She messaged him while talking on the phone. ”Do you know what it might be? Also apparently it was a Sarah? I don’t recognise the name? Is it your mom?”

It was home time, Jack never liked his part-time job, and on a Saturday too! He was on the bus when he got a text from Evelyn. "Do you know what it might be? Also apparently it was a Sarah? I don’t recognise the name? Is it your mom?” Jack's blood ran cold and then remembered something, his mother was supposed to be giving birth to his sibling...but the due date is in two months?! He quickly got off the bus and ran to Evelyn's house. He rang on the doorbell and knocked. It had started to rain.

Evelyn heard the door and answered. What she saw was her terrified boyfriend soaked. She ushered him in and sat him down. “Jack? What’s wrong?” Evelyn ran to fetch him a towel and sat next to him. “Who’s Sarah? Because I presume this is about her?”

He was in Evelyn's house, wrapped in a towel. He should probably answer her. "Sarah...is my mother.." He said, staring down at the floor. "I'm scared something happened to her.." he said again. He then remembered that his mom said she was going away for a bit, no wonder...also..did his sister know this too?

Evelyn rubbed his shoulders in a side hug “We can go and visit her once you’ve dried off a bit? Hows that? I’m sure she’s fine!” Although Evelyn was worried, she was more worried about Jack. After a moment of contemplation, she kissed his cheek. Evelyn stood and walked to the kitchen to make them ho drinks in takeaway cups. “Do you want tea, coffee or hot chocolate?” Evelyn popped into the doorframe with this statement.
