"Aw." she said to herself and smiled. "It's obviously young, let's go ahead and leave it alone." she told Absol.
Absol cried out its name quietly and walked away with Shay.

"Are you Matt?" The professor asked Matt. "Y-yes, I am." Mitch replied. "Well, you get to choose from these Pokemon." The professor told Matt. "I choose you!" Matt said as he grabbed a mudkip's poke ball. "Let's see who I got!" Matt said as mudkip was sent out of his Poke ball. It cried it's name. "That's mudkip, the mud fish Pokemon. Also, take these." The professor said as he handed Matt a pokedex and five Poke balls. "That's a high-tech encyclopedia. And those are used to catch Pokemon." The professor explained to Matt. "Thanks!" Matt replied as he put them in his backpack.

Matt encountered a wild Pokemon. It was pidgey. "You are mine!" Matt said. He threw a Poke ball. No shakes at all, pidgey broke free. "What? I was supposed to catch you!" Matt said.

(My first experience of catching a wild Pokemon in my first Pokemon game, lol)

Shay and Absol came across a pond, which was home to many different water types.
Shay took notice of a Staryu and nodded to Absol.
"Megahorn, quick!" Shay said, the Absol then attacked the Staryu, making the Staryu faint.
Shay threw a Pokéball quickly and captured the Staryu.

"Maybe I have to weaken it!" Matt said with determination. "Mudkip, quick hit 'em hard with water gun!" Matt commanded mudkip. Pidgey took the hit, it then tackled Mudkip. "Mudkip, shake it off! Now Poke ball, go!" Matt said throwing the ball at Pidgey. 1... 2... 3... BOOM! Pidgey was caught. "I think I got it..." Matt said as he picked the Poke ball up.

Shay sighed and sent out her Staryu while leaning against a tree stump.
"Welcome to the team!" she told it smiling.
"Hey a!" it cried and Absol seemed confused, not knowing where its face was.
