Athena realized that she would probably be treading on personal territory if she continued the conversation, so she dropped it. But what was so bad about Kendo's past that he wouldn't talk about it?

Kendo grinned. "Yeah, yeah, sorry teach." Kendo was back to normal, though something still seemed off. There was a quiver in his voice, a sadness that had not been there previously.

The test was over and Professor Glitarius announced that they would be learning how to differentiate different herbs today. "Now, can somebody tell me what this is?" She held up a pot containing a plant with a star shaped purple flower.

Athena's hand shot into the air, and when called, she answered, "That's Nightshade. It's poisonous and the flowers can be used to make killing potions while the leaves are milder and simply knock you out. Eating any of the plant unprocessed is committing suicide, but boiling the leaves take away the poison and if you eat it you will have your energy being suddenly replenished."
(No specific reference, Nightshade is poisonous but the other parts are made up by me)
