'Life will go on... My children will have children of their own... and my family will continue to grow. It's funny... I never though I could have a family...' She sighed softly. 'Life has been cruel to us. We deserve a happy ending."

Mercy walked into her room and set the two on the bed, cleaning up whatever mess was left. She tucked them in and sat by her desk, watching over them while they slept. She herself couldn't sleep with too many things to think about, and so chose to listen to the soft breathing of her children while she opened her grimoire again. It's pages were filled out, but she liked looking back on her previous notes of people she knew.

"I'll get back on that." Iteral replied, going into the room and locking the door behind her. She looks through the darkness but does see a faint blue light in the distance. And as people always do, she follows the light...

A text came to Mercy about ten minutes later. It just said "text me if kids are asleep."

Mercy glanced down at the phone. 'They are.' She sent it shortly after and turned it off, placing it on the desk beside her.

About ten minutes later, in front of Mercy's window, a hooded figure appeared. Though it took only a few seconds to reveal that, yeah, it was Iteral. In her lap was a tub of ice cream, blackberry something. The rest was covered by her jacket. She held up two spoons and, yeah, she just invited her to eat something.

Mercy tilted her head, opening the door to the balcony. "Iteral, what are you doing out here if you were just inside?" She looked around. "It's really cold out- you might get sick."

"The, um, fountain told me that you were sick and I thought maybe you could... you know." She holds up the spoons again. "Use some company."

"I'm sick...?" She didn't want to strike up another argument, so she accepted her fate and walked outside, closing the door gently behind her. A shawl was wrapped around her upper frame, keeping her from the cold. "Okay... So...." She didn't really know how to start a conversation at the moment, looking in the distance.

"More like upset. You know what I mean." Iteral sighs, opening the tub of ice cream and handing her a spoon. A standard one she snatched from the kitchen. "... Mom? Ehm... you know you can tell me anything, right?"

She hesitated for a moment, then nodded, grabbing the spoon and just staring at it. "I know." She was unsure of what Iteral's motive was.

"Just making sure. I know our bond hasn't been... close." Iteral looks at the ice cream instead. Staring into it like it had something for her. "... and I've done my fair share to make that happen."

"Mm..." It wasn't disagreeing or agreeing. She didn't know what Iteral was trying to get at, but she had her guard up high. "Are you feeling well? No bad injuries?"

Iteral looks over, seeing Mercy all hesitant. God... she can't even comfort her own mother or tell her something important. It's just two people awkwardly sitting next to each other. "... am I making you uncomfortable?"

"No!" She answered quickly, holding her hands up defensively. She then realized how loud she was, and cleared her throat. "Sorry, you're fine. Honest. So... What did the fountain tell you?"

Iteral flinched and dropped her spoon. "It's... okay..." She bows down to pick it up again and uses her hood to clean it. She hesitated, thinking about it. "You probably know it but... nothing happened. It did not disappear but... neither did it grant me powers." She didn't expect it but asked anyway. "Do you know why? You know, with the Fountain being the magic of the stars and you... being in charge of them?"

Iteral rolls her eyes about that statement, though instead of being stubborn or annoying about it, she just looks away. "Well, I got your thick skin." A dry laugh... but it quickly wore off after a second or two. "... you do know that it's in your name though, right? For your safety and all that?"

Iteral sighs again and looks away from her now, finally being the first one to put a scoop of the ice cream, that has melted a bit by now, in her mouth. "... I know I can be impulsive. Rash. Aggressive... heck, villainous even, right?" She laughs a bit, this one was a very awkward one. "But... I just wanted to help. Be important or at least... not a footnote in your grimoire." She looks away again, now pulling on the drawstrings of her hoodie. "... I just hope you know my intentions were never to harm the world or you."
