This rp is inspired and based off of Pokemon mezastars, an arcade game in Japan, but no experience is needed to sign up! Everything will be explained in the rp

The Mezalia region, a region with lush nature and it's own culture. Here, 6 on 6 battles are so last year, the freshest and most popular battle format is a 3 on 3 battle! While only one move can be learned per pokemon, the key to winning is careful planning, working together with your pokemon, and most importantly, encouraging your pokemon to raise it's power!

In this region, pokeballs are not used to capture pokemon. Mezalia uses 'tags', small circular disks that display information on the pokemon, like it's grade, moves, type, and pokedex entry. They work pretty much like normal pokeballs, and instead of trainer cards, memory tags are used. Think of it as a digital trainer card!

In the middle of the region is a school for trainers to learn about the massive region. Acceptance is very difficult. However, one day you receive a letter, which read:

Dear (insert character name)

You have been accepted into Mezastar academy! Alongside this letter is a list of supplies you will need to buy in Ga-ole city. We cannot wait to welcome you to our family when the new term starts!

Rules
1) All PH rules apply
2) Max 6 pokemon per character, and only 3 can be on the battlefield at once. At the start of the rp, your pokemon will all be in their lowest evolution form.
3) Only 1 special tag pokemon allowed. Special tag abilities are unavailable until the pokemon fully evolves.
4) Hate the character, not the user
5) No being OP.
6) Password is crossbone.
7) No legendaries and mythicals... yet.
8) Do not take any advantage of rules I haven't put here.

Pokemon grades

Each pokemon in the Mezalia region have grades that represent how powerful they are.

Grade 2 Grade 2 is commonly made up of base form pokemon, starters, and baby pokemon.
Grade 3: Grade 3 pokemon include middle evolutions of pokemon.
Grade 4: Grade 4 pokemon are fully evolved pokemon with no special abilties.
Grade 5: Grade 5 pokemon are fully evolved pokemon that have the ability to either use z moves, mega evolve, dynamax, or chain link. These pokemon have the title 'Star' before their names.
Grade 6: Grade 6 pokemon are fully evolved pokemon and are considered the post powerfullest. Legendary and mythicals are in this grade, but so are double move pokemon. These pokemon have the title 'superstar' before their names, and their tags are black instead of the usual white.

Some pokemon when fully evolved gain special abilities they can use in battle. Keep in mind they aren't always successful, and are one use only..

Chain link: Chain link pokemon can coordinate attacks with their teammates, unleashing a combo move on the opponents.
Mega evolution: Has the chance to mega evolve, increasing their attack power. Lasts until the battle ends or the pokemon faints
Z moves The pokemon has the chance to use a z move once per battle.
Dynamax: The pokemon can dynamax and use their dynamax moves, lasts 3 turns
Double move: The pokemon can launch two attacks in one turn, and are the only pokemon who can learn 2 moves. The 1st move listed will be their default move

Locations

Ga-Ole city A large city in the heart of Mezalia. The city is where every new adventure starts, and there are shops available to help newcomers prepare. In the middle of Ga-Ole city is the central station, showcasing what Pokemon are available to catch in which areas.
Mezastar academy The academy you have been enrolled in. Located north of Ga-Ole city it takes 2 hours to get from the central station to the academy by train. Most areas can be easily accessed from the academy.
Meadows: A grassy plains with plenty of tall grass. Normal, fighting and grass types are common here
The forest a large forest with tall trees. Bug, grass, and sometimes flying Pokemon can be found here
The peaks Mountains that varies in height. Flying and ice Pokemon reside here, but occasionally dragon types can be found here.
Cave system: Below your feet is a vast cavern where steel, ground and rock Pokemon reside.
beaches popular summer spot. Water and flying types reside here.
mystic jungle a large jungle resonating with strangeness. Psychic, ghost and fairy Pokemon reside here. Dark types are also common here.
Lava zone this place is so hot that special wear is needed! Fire Pokemon love this place, as well as rock types!

legends statue A statue in Ga-Ole city, honouring a legendary hero who defeated a dark force to save Mezalia.
Unity altar Built during ancient times, no one knows it's purpose.
