"The first route would most likely freeze our limbs. Only a few of
us here are suited for cold weather and ice. Despite the second
route being longer, it would be most safe." Ash responded to
Forestfire "But if majority says first route, we'll go." But if
we die there, that would be bad

“Perhaps… we could split up if we don’t want to risk it… Wolves
with thick fur and could live in cold places could go to the first.
The others can go to the second route.” Forestfire shuttered. She
was worried about her packmates. Who could go with her?
Echo considered the different opinions that were being voiced. "The
main problem seems not to be time, but the different preferred
temperatures. So we'll take the longer route. The forest and tundra
share a border, so those who prefer colder climates could walk in
the tundra while the rest walk in the woods. The change in biomes
is quite sudden, so we would all remain in a group despite the
different terrain. Does that sound good?"
Silver looked around thoughtfully. "That's a way better idea." She
gave a pointed glare towards ForestFire, and a hint of a growl
crept into her voice. "And we will not be splitting up."
Silver nodded towards Gyra. "Besides, we have a young pup on our
hands. Going into the cold could hurt it." Silver walked over to
Gyra, checking on both her and the pup.
Becoming aware of the young pup for the first time, Note follows
Silver over to Gyra. She bends over slightly to look at the small
one. "And who might this be? I don't remember any reports of
missing pups matching this one..." She sniffed the pup trying to
pick up a scent. "Well, that's settled it at least. Unless this was
an Ice Tribe pup he'd be unable to survive the constant blizzards
the tundra holds. Any thought of taking the shorter route must be
abandoned now. Understood?" She looked around, making eye contact
with every wolf in the group.
Note looked around at the group, and then up at the trees. Somehow,
she could tell from the light filtering through the time of day.
"Well, the sun has already passed its zenith, so we can't travel
quite as far today. That being said, we'll still easily get into
Nature Tribe territory. Jungle Tribe's land is pretty small. Just
like us!" She quipped. "Follow me, and let's go." She began walking
westward at a steady pace

The forest shares similarities to the jungle, but the change is
still obvious. The trees are shorter, there are no bushes holding
fruit and flowers are scarce, the wildlife can be seen darting in
and out of the shadows, and there must be twenty different kind of
trees! Turning south, you soon see the tundra. Note was right, the
change IS sudden. It's as if a line was drawn, the division is so
even. The tundra is blanketed with snow, hills preventing too much
sight of it, though. There are a few scattered pine trees, and
frozen-over bodies of water. Snow is falling over there, but none
in the forest. A few sets of tracks lay fresh in the snow, and they
are strange, rounded out tracks, not like those belonging to
wolves. Note seems to hear something in the distance, and grins.
Silver looks confused by Note's expression, but makes no comment
about it. Instead, she asks "Excuse me Captain Note, but do think
there would be any chance of hunting nearby? We haven't had
anything since we left."
Note turns around looking slightly surprised and embarrassed. "Oh,
excuse me! I'm sorry, I completely forgot. Yes, yes, Nature Tribe
has the best hunting grounds, so this would be a great place to
eat. My body is uncapable of consuming meat, so you can all go
hunting, and I'll wait here for you to get back."
Silver looks a little surprised at the note about not being able to
eat meat, but keeps her thoughts to herself.
She turns around to address the group. "Gyra, you should stay here.
I'll bring something back for you. The rest of us should work in
pairs and split up into different directions." Silver hesitates, as
if worried that the others might find her too bossy and didn't want
them to be angry that she was acting as if she was the Alpha.
Silver tried to ignore the pang of jealousy in her heart as Ash
said that. "I think we have an odd number, so I'll hunt alone." She
sped off into the forest.
