Some important things before I start:

-The main character is Ember the Shiny Scorbunny
-I will release this chapter by chapter, so please don't rush me. I will release at least five chapters per week, and eventually, I will move into the next book of the series
-Yes, this is a series. The series is called Ember's Path. Here are the book names:
Book One: The Last Starter
Book Two: The Fire of Ages
There will definitely be these two books but others are not confirmed yet, but I will update this post if this changes.

Prologue
"B-But please, professor. No one will pick her," "I'm sorry Cinderace, but there aren't very many Scorbunnies left. We need to use her," "Alright then, you are free to let the worthiest three trainers in to pick their starters, but I'm not sure about this."
The lab was suddenly filled with squeals of joy as three new trainers ran into the lab. "Luke, you can go first," Professor Magnolia said to a young trainer with dark brown hair and brown eyes. "I want this one!" Luke said, pointing at the Grookey. "This is Twig the Grookey. Here is his Pokeball," Magnolia said while handing a Pokeball to Luke. Luke seemed extremely happy and he exclaimed "Woohoo!" "Okay, Rose, you're next." "Can I please have the Sobble?" Rose asked politely. "Of course, dear. This Sobble is called Misty" Magnolia said, giving another Pokeball to Rose. "Woah, is that the fire-type? I had wanted that one all along, I guess I'm lucky!" a red-haired girl thought out loud. "Indeed she is, Ruby. This is Ember the Scorbunny. Her kind isn't very popular," Magnolia said, knowing that shinies didn't get the recognition she wanted them to have. "I can tell you two will get along great!" Magnolia added to Ruby and then she stepped back to address the whole group. "Have fun on your journeys, wherever they may take you."

Chapter 1
Over the next few days, Ember had made some new friends. Clay the Bunnelby, Honey the Combee, Quake the Onix, and Venom the Toxel. Now it was time for the first gym battle against Milo, the grass-type gym leader. "Honey, I choose you!" Ruby called and she sent Honey out of her Pokeball. "Honey, use Bug Buzz!" she said. Honey obeyed and Ruby sent out the same command. The opposing Gossifleur fainted. "Honey, return. Ember, I choose you!" she said and Ember leaped forward. "Ember, I know we haven't practiced this yet, but you need to Dynamax," Ruby said, trying to make Ember return. Ember kept jumping around and dodging the returns. The opposing Eldegoss had already dynamaxed, and this was a perfect time for Milo to strike. "Use Max Overgrowth!" he yelled and Eldegoss attacked, making Ember get badly damaged. "Ember, return. Venom, go!" she said and Ember reluctantly returned. Vemon got sent out. "Venom, Dynamax! Use Max Ooze!" the Eldegoss fainted. Later, Ruby set up camp and sent out her pokemon. While she was cooking curry, Venom came up to Ember. "I knew she liked me more than you," he smirked and walked away.

Chapter 2

Ember awoke to her trainer talking. "The name's Luke. And you are?"
"I'm Ruby. I will battle with you. How many pokemon are we to each use?"
"Two per trainer."
"Ember! Toxel! Come over here!" Ember did not like being called over to the battle. Well, at least this wasn't a Dynamax stadium. "Floof! I choose you!" Luke said and he sent out a Wooloo. "Venom! Go! Use Acid!" Venom used Acid and Floof was poisoned. "Floof, use Tackle!" the sheep pokemon tackled Venom, but you could notice its poison was harming it a lot. "Venom! Finish it off with Nuzzle!" Floof fainted. "Venom, return. Ember, it's your turn!" "Twig, come on out!" Twig was a familiar-looking Grookey. "Twig?" Ember asked, suddenly thinking that it was her friend from the lab. "Ember!" he exclaimed. "Ember, use Tackle!" Ruby exclaimed. Ember knew she couldn't attack her friend, so she didn't. "Twig, use Scratch!" "T-Twig," Ember said in fear that he would attack her. Twig shook his head. "Ember, I'm sorry, but we have to continue this battle," Twig said. And then he attacked Ember.
