I have a bit of a conundrum.
So I did the mini-game for the bug contest and obviously picked the unknown one with the best talent rating.
Turns out it's a Scyther that can Mega Evolve.
Which also means I would have to trade her to someone else while she has a Metal Coat to evolve before I can Mega her.
Even if the contest doesn't specifically ask for that particular Scyther for the contest, I still want to Mega evolve her, but I also don't want someone to get her, keep her, and then just not give her back.
Obviously, I'm going to be cautious toward any trade offers, but is there anything at all that I can do to make sure I get her back?

Not really a guaranteed chance that a random person will trade it back. You could try asking one of your trusted friends to trade it with you, if you think that they will give the Pokémon back to you. If you want I could trade with you, I’ve done that with a lot of Pokémon :P
