If you're looking for money for the gem cauldron, then you've got the concept of it wrong. The gem cauldron uses up gems to make different evolutionary stones, it doesn't produce gems.

If you really need gems, buying plushies is the most efficient way to get them.

Getting a legendary with gems might take long, and you'll also need it's pokedex entry. I recommend using a summon item if you want to get one quickly.
