Maelstrom gnawed on a femur bone slowly. He had torn every scrap of
meat off, but he was bired and had nothing else to do “Oi birdsong,
what you think about the war?” He asked “I think its pretty stupid
how this came to be. Just ask an animus to enchant a spear to find
the killer of princess azalea”
He brothe a light layer of ice over the bone, and threw it at a
wall, smashing it. “Tell me about it. Reminds me of how the last
war started…” he murmured, tracking birdsongs movements with an
unsettling gaze
“Well, no offense, but rainwings are lazy nightwings need to
recover, and sandwings hate war now.” He said, nodding at his own
words “And the foreign tribes dont care about us” he added,
shooting a blast of frost breath at a mouse beside her
“Dragons will die very soon. And if we dont change that? This war
will be no different from the last” he said, closing his eyes as
his temples throbbed “You can have the mouse”
The mouse shattered in her mouth, frozen to the core as he sighed
“But, what can we do? It’d take a seer to plan that out. Oh wait,
guess what i am???”
“The nightwing, proper term, for a future seer” he said “and, yes,
thats what i am. A pretty good one too. Like i can see all the
futures where you get food poisoning from eating that frozen mouse
and throw up on a dragonet”
“What’re you shocked about? My power, or the future? You can change
it by forcing yourself to throw up the mouse” he said, jumping off
hisledge and nodding at the exit of the roughly hacked-away cave
He cackled “Well, too bad. Every future i see says you get food
poisoning” he said, shrugging his wings and prancing out into the
dazzling beams of sunkight, reflected by the stillwater pool in the
middle of sanctuary
He rattled his tail spikes at her “come on! We need to go say hi to
winter and gtfo” he said, throwing his spikes around his head like
he was wipping hair around
