I have been away from the site for 3 years for one reason of another.. Now that I'm back, I have no idea where I should start.. I remember interacting like crazy with other people's pokemon, but besides that, what's good? What's the current thing to spam for?

You can explore each one by one through the tabs (Home tab, Town tab, etc.) and you can check yourself, what's new! ;)

Shadow Hunting through Shadow Radar means catching special-dark-variant of Pokémons knowns as Shadows by chaining in the radar. The shadows can't evolve.
If you are aware, and if you played, Retro Radar Game, Shadow Radar is just like that.
Retro Radar is just changed into Shadow Radar but with it you can catch Shadows now not Retros.
Shadow Radar is available in the Item Shop after reaching Trainerlevel 20. You can buy it with either PokéDollars or with Nuggets.
After buying, it will be accessible through home tab.
You can play the game with starting fee 200 PokeDollars.
You will be given a 10×10 field, where small-shadow-pikachu-sprite will start randomly appear on any grass spot.
Click on to start chaining. You need to chain same pokemons in-order to encounter its shadow. The same specie can be foind far from the tall grass previously clicked. The higher you chain is, the more chances are that you enocounter a shadow pokemon.
When you encounter it, you can catch it with pokéballs. Remember, it can flee too!
