Sign Ups
It was just like any other autumn day. Like many of the other village children, your parents had sent you out into the cold forest to gather firewood for the upcoming winter. You find yourself with a group of your peers, trudging through the forest and picking up any logs and sticks you can find. Suddenly, you feel...drawn to something, deeper within the woods. Before you can realize it, your feet are taking you into the heart of the forest, and the other children aren't far behind. If only your parents had known what other worldly things reside here in the woods.

Grisell tried to keep the grin off her face as she practically bolted down to the forest's entrance. Out of all of her chores, gathering firewood was her favorite. It gave her an excuse to explore the woodlands surrounding the village, without having to (once again) listen to her parents' lecture of "It's dangerous to be out in the woods by yourself, especially for someone your age." She had heard it so many times, Grisell was almost sure she could recite it if she wanted. Shaking the thought away, she waved at a few of the other village children.

Yano was sitting on a branch, his tail swaying lightly as it sagged down from the tree he was in. He didn't have too many cares, as Will and Kayden should be alright with the foxes.

Gemini's feet pounded against the earth as she ran from her house into the woods. She loved this chore! Well, it was the only chore she even remotely liked at all But she had gotten off easy. Coming from a family of 10, Gemini being the oldest, she often got stuck with the most responsibilities. Gemini noticed her neighbor Griselle as well. She often saw her when doing this, so she waved back. Gemini could barely hold in the excitement. Would she get to fight an eagle? A Bear? An Eagle-Bear? Hey, these woods were full of old stories so one could never tell. Gemini did hope they were true though. The scent of way too many people in one place, mud, and baked goods gave way to the fresh, sharp pine smell that Gemini absolutely adored.

as the children were walking to collect sticks there was a faint noise in the distance a wolf?
Then in the bushes behind them came a rustling noise first soft then started intensifying

The wolf howls with pain, and claws at the demon-like creature while barring its teeth barely acknowledging the children
and in an instant, the wolf faded into dust like it was an illusion.

Geo was waken up early by his parents to go do some errands for them, something he dreaded doing ever since he could do them. He lazily slung on some clothes and groggily walked out the door, not really caring if the other children were there. He liked to be alone anyways, he didn’t have to deal with anyone trying to talk to him. He reached his hands high into the air, one grabbing the other, as he stretched back and to the side. Another yawn had left his mouth before he made his way into the forest.

Grim noticed what had happened and didn't want to get involved. He stayed silent but a gut feeling told him to go there and see what's happening up close.

He has a good look at the bunny. It seems oddly familiar. But he usually doesn't care about things like these. Grim continues to watch from a distance.

He stopped as soon as he heard the commotion, his curiosity growing ever so slightly. He sighed and decided to keep on walking. He was only here to get firewood after all... He didn’t want to get involved in whatever everyone else was doing... It would only give him something else to do, something that prevented him from getting home quickly and going back to sleep...

Meanwhile, Lei was silently watching the lone walker. She didn’t bother with the other creatures in the forest, she found them too chaotic and unentertaining. All she did was wait until someone went into the forest alone, watch them to see what the would do, then make her next move. Depending on what she thinks of them, she either ends their life or tries to befriend them in the form of a 10 year old girl. She found it fun to do this, and she wouldn’t have to deal with everyone else’s problems.

Grisell beamed when she saw Gemini.Of course, it was par for the course that they'd be seeing eachother, since the children were mostly sent out at the same time in groups. Still, Grisell was delighted to see her. Her brother had already moved out, which meant she was practically an only child. And being an only child meant most of her day was spent with adults, was so seeing someone around her age was a very refreshing change. Grisell jogged up to her neighbor, too excited to even hear the twigs that snapped under her feet.

"Heya Gemini! Good to see ya!" She chimed, as she began picking up sticks.

Yano nearly knocked Hana out of the tree she was in. Her gills had turned gold as she whacked his paw with her tail.

Gemini grinned. "Hi!" She bent over, picking up sticks. "It's good to see you too, refreshing to see a girl my age for once." (6 out of Gemini's 7 siblings were boys. The other one was a 4-year-old girl.) "So how have you been?"

He stands up. He decides to go for a walk. Grim starts walking, once he started walking, he started to appreciate the scenery. The chirping of birds and the wind were really calming.
