“This is my den.” She explained flicking her tail at another hole
in the cliff face. “There is a bigger den over there for if someone
comes to visit.” She explained flicking her tail again to point.
“There is my training area” she said pointing with her tail again.
“And there, is where I keep my claws sharp.” She said flicking her
tail at a small cluster of trees.
“I made it to be perfect for shapeshifters like us.” Joy explained
leading her over to a bundle of rocks with sunlight warming them.
“This is where I like to warm my fur. You need to learn to relax
more.” Joy explained.
“That’s not what I meant.” Joy sighed. “I mean, not focusing on
surviving all the time. My camp is secure. I relax and do all my
work, including hunting, keeping my claws sharp, practicing my
shapeshifting, keeping my moss fresh, my herbs sorted, and keeping
the clearing clear of all debris. I do all that, and still find
time to relax.” Joy explained. “If I can do it, you can.” Joy said
encouragingly. “And not by being a frog and letting out tension. I
mean time to yourself to have fun.” Joy explained further.
“No, no, no!” She said racing over as the last of the color drained
from the golden lily. “That is not normal! That means, that
something terrible is going to happen!” Joy said her eyes wide. “We
need to be prepared. We need to go through my herbs, and stock up
on them! We need to be ready. If you go and hunt food, I will go
hunt herbs.” Joy said finishing up her sorting.
“I think it means this is a platinum lily, which happens when a
silver lily is polenated by a golden lily” she ssid “and golden
Lily’s can’t handle light, which is why the solar eclipse is when
they grow”
“And the platinum Lilly has the same powers as the silver lily, but
stronger. So we don’t need to stock up on prey. But we still need
to get more herbs.” Joy realized.
