Cream is unable to hear Sans because he is running through bushes and in logs and over rocks and other stuff. He goes into a hole in the ground and pops up somewhere else. Where was everybody? He said in a quiet voice, “Midnight? Mabel? Fae? Sans?” He didn’t know about the stay put if you’re lost rule so he kept walking further away.

Cream saw a light in the distance. It could be Midnight! But it could also be someone who wanted to hurt him. Should he go towards the light, or run from it? Maybe he should just hide under something and hope it’s a friend who spots him. Cream said from inside a nearby log, “I-I‘m vewy scawey and you should go always if you twy and huwt me’s.”
