They arrive at a church, but it didn’t look much like a church anymore. It was old and the paint is gone. The windows were able to be smashed my touch almost and threw wood was splintering and rotting. “We’re here.” Grandma said.

“I doubt there’s anything living in it based on what happened to this place years ago.” Grandma said. Luke saw something in the church. “Guys, it’s the witch!” Luke said quietly. Grandma shot her in the arm, trying to get the head. Muriel shrieked. The giant imps started to try and grab them.

Sparks sizzled when the imps touched the powder. The imps got back up quickly though. They all started going after her, and there were about 15 big imps and about 85 smaller ones.

One of the imps grabbed Meg’s leg and shook her until all of the powder was spilled into the floor. The imp smiled and started bringing her back to Muriel. Meanwhile, a large wooden puppet thing started bounding over to Luke. “Luke! You haven’t done any mischief or magic!” Run!” Luke tan I, knowing his family would be captured and there was no way to stop it.

Hey got stung and let her go, but more imps gathered. Muriel made a lot of them bigger. They all surrounded Meg and picked her up and took her powder. Luke was running, but the puppet was after him.

Muriel uses her magic to heal herself and grab Meg. Since she used the powder, she was vulnerable to magic. Muriel puts her in a clear jar and turns her old. “You won’t be getting out now.” she said.

Mendigo, the wooden living limberjack, tries to grab Luke but his arms just stay in the air. Lurk goes into the garden and goes by the pier. Mendigo follows.

Luke remembered something. He walks close to the edge of the pier, then quickly unhinges Mendigo’s arms and throws them into the lake. Mendigo kicked him and then went to the edge of the lake and was dragged in by the Naiads. Luke watches as Mendigo is sunk to the bottom. Luke sighs in relief, then cries a bit. He sees the island with the fairy shrine. He heard that it would turn you into dandelions if you step on it. But he had to try. He sees a boathouse and walks to it. He pulls a lever but nothing happens. He cranks a crank and then pulls the lever, revealing the end of the pier. Luke sees a paddle boat and goes in. He gets bumped around by naiads trying to drown him. After about 20 minutes, he gets to the edge of the island. The naiads has given up. Luke gets on they island and is still alive. He starts looking for the shrine. He finds the tiny shrine and goes to it. He says, “Fairy Queen, please help me. Fablehaven is falling, and I need your help. My family will...”. Luke suddenly realizes this and starts weeping.l, unable to stop, tears just gushing from his eyes.

Muriel said, “Just an aging spell. You’ll just be old.”

The fairy shrine suddenly flowed and said, “I weep with you.” and the statue started crying. “Fill this with tears, milk, and blood.” Luke wipes his eyes and sees the bowl with tears. He nods his head and then sees the naiads leading the boat to him. Luke starts gathering the items. The milk was easy. Now he needed blood. He goes to the barn and cuts viola, then put a little bit of his own. He hears a voice that says, Now, bring it to the fairies. Luke finds a clearing and sees a few fairies. They look at their reflections, but don’t drink the liquid. Luke had an idea. Luke tastes it but it didn’t taste that good. “Mmm. Good.” The fairies come closer and taste it, but they grow bigger! More fairies start coming.
