so this is something i think about

there are pokemon in sword and shield that have been completely wiped from the game, everyone knows this. but what about the in-game canon? are the pokemon just not there completely? are the pokemon not in the games extinct? also seeing the gen 8 fossil pokemon makes me think about how galar could have been like "hmmm maybe let's not revive more pokemon." that probably doesn't make much sense now that I think about but yeah.

Hmmm yeah I always thought about that.

Here's my theory:

The last couple shipment of Pokemon to Galar (the ones not in the game, can't be transferred) somehow got messed up, meaning the Pokemon never arrived to Galar. (And again, makes no sense because there's only 400 Pokemon in the Galar dex, we have around 900 in national)

Hmmm, that works I guess. However, international trading (??? idk i dont know how it works in swsh) exists, so that problem could... somewhat be worked around since "missing" Pokemon could be traded to Galarian trainers. But then again in my thought, I guess Pokemon simply be revived.
