Welcome to this roleplay idea I’m trying out! I figured that I might as well try to get back into the swing of things with an RP, since I’ve been gone so long. However, due to my experience GMing/DMing various tabletop role-playing games, I’m going to take a step back from being a character in the story this time, and instead focus on letting you guys tell the story! (This is subject to change if there isn’t a lot of people interested) Speaking of tabletop RPGs, I suppose I should introduce the setting, which is primarily inspired by the worlds of fantasy TTRPGS:

Personality: Introverted and mildly socially inept, Arthur is known for being well-mannered and quiet. Although often appearing stoic, a lot of his calm and collected nature stems from his tragic (and mysterious) past. He is more afraid to get too close or cross boundaries than he is worried about being ill-mannered, which is why he behaves the way he does.

Appearance: Male, older / preferably in his 20's but can be scaled down to fit this setting's "youth" requirements. Brown Hair, Brown/Mahogany Dark Eyes. Avg. height, thin but well-defined, slim athletic build.

Backstory: A native to Velorys, Arthur's lineage dates back to as long as civilization had lived in the region. Once a proud bloodline of Pokemon herders, his family had been known long ago for their strong relationships with Pokemon and their passion for Pokemon handling. From caregivers to park rangers and breeders, his lineage had a broad history of connecting deeply and vastly with a large selection of species, with some family members even going on to write guides and textbooks on Pokemon and their language and habits. However, even before his birth, strange circumstances had his family members dying out one-by-one. As their numbers dwindled, the Branham bloodline isolated themselves, living far off into Velorys mountains and forests. Rumors soon began to spread following the family's communal absence. Some called it a disease, others called it a curse from evil forces, but by the time Arthur was old enough to take an interest into Pokemon training, he was the sole survivor of the Branham line. Orphaned and alone, Arthur sets out to make his own connections with his Pokemon pals before he too finds himself at the same mysterious fate as those before him.
