Hi guys!

I've been more active with this website lately compared to when I first signed up. Before I ask my question, yes, I have been through the wiki and a few threads here. My question is how do you even advance or collect new Pokemon? Auction house, the lab, okay those I get. But the gem guy? Tall grass? Daycare? It feels like you only get ones you have or had have... Beach looks promising for a few new ones. Safari zone I've only seen like... 4 different kinds.

If I'm honest, it's frustrating and a bit boring? But I do like how this website is set up! Maybe there's just something I'm missing?? If so, I'd love to learn!

Your best bet is either the lab or buying/trading with other people to get more pokes (GTS, auction house).

The gem collector (I believe) only allows you to trade in gems for pokemon you've already owned before. So you can't get any new pokes from him (minus the 2 legendaries). The daycare breeds 2 pokes you already have for eggs of that poke, so you don't get new ones from that, either. Safari zone doesn't have a lot of different pokes, I believe it has... 6 different kinds?

The beach has a large variety if you're willing to commit the time to it. With your first rod you won't get much, but once you start to upgrade it you'll be finding a bunch of different pokes, even water type starters. You can also fish up other valuables and even shiny pokes as well.

The tall grass you can get a lot of different pokemon from, you just have to buy the different radar chips from the shop. There normally isn't a lot of super valueable pokes there, but there's a large variety of the more common pokes.

Also, you can get a decent variety of pokes from the honey tree (you just need to put honey on it^^)
