Title: Series 1, Prologue

H-hello? Can anyone hear me. . .? P-please! A-anyone! *In the deep, black abyss, a small whimper can be heard.* P-please... I-I can’t see... I can’t-I can’t... *Tears begin to fall. Crying can be heard* SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME! *The cry uselessly fades into the darkness. Nothing else can be heard other than the useless cries.* PLEASE! I CAN’T TAKE IT ANYMORE! I- *The voice is cut short, seemingly faded away into the abyss. Nothing can be heard now.*

Title: Series 1, Prologue PT 2

*A gentle breeze is felt through the seemingly never ending flower field. Blues, reds, and yellows were the most abundant colors there, fitting the atmosphere. The sun was about to set. A decently sized girl was seen dancing through the waving flowers, the wind blowing slightly in her hair.* After taking a deep breath and studying the horizon of dark trees, Autumn sat down and picked a flower. She wondered what time it was, but to be honest, she didn’t really care. She just wanted to stay out here forever. The breeze was a perfect end to the blazing heat of the early summer day. She looked at the sun, now hidden behind the trees. “I can stay a bit longer, I bet she wouldn’t mind.” Autumn muttered to herself. She picked a handful of bright flowers, then began to weave them into a small circle. An old tradition, but a good one. She stood up and wiped the dust off of her shirt skirt and began to run back home.

Title: Series 1, Prologue PT 3

*Nothing was there except the dark, unsettling abyss.* She couldn’t breath, she couldn’t see, she couldn’t hear, she couldn’t feel. She couldn’t even think about anything, much less talk. Is this what going to Hell felt like? Is this what she deserved? The darkness seemed to be closing around her, but she didn’t know how she could determine that. A slight tug was felt, but nothing was done. Maybe her imagination?

*The sun was almost asleep, barely visible on the horizon. The sky was filled with a dark sunset, slowly fading into complete darkness.* She was getting close to home. She could see the road from here, a small sliver of gray against the dark, but colorful, landscape of flowers. She ran faster, wanting to get home to her sister.

Interesting beginning, I get the sense that she is feeling in despair or lost, with the images of darkness.

I hope comments are okay! :]

I just messaged Mod Tesoro to ask if I could make a Giant Review Thread for everyone's reviews to go in one place.

I dunno, after I commented in your topic I felt like I messed up the flow.

(So of course, I comment again to explain that I feel bad for messing up your thread. xD)

Hope you get inspired again! :]

Title: Series 2, Chapter 1

One Day

I walk a lonely road, the only one that I have ever known. Don’t know where it goes, but it’s home to me, and I walk alone.

Amani walked the sidewalk right outside his house, not too far from the city. He was going to see a friend today, someone he hadn’t seen in quite a while. The slight breeze that flew by, the smell of the fresh blooms, the crunch of the pavement under his feet, it was all very familiar to him. Even the city was familiar, even though it seemed just like another world. Was that really what it was? Was the city a completely different world from the suburbs? He stopped, standing completely still on the concrete. He was overthinking it... He shouldn’t be think about silly stuff like that, but instead think of important things. He was going insane... He sighed and continued forwards, his sights on the tall buildings ahead.

Title: Series 2, Chapter 2

As he walked into the city, he started to have a bad feeling about the people that walked by. Something about them felt... off. He shook it off, telling himself that he was just going insane. It’s just the before-coffee jitters. Speaking of coffee... He stood right in front of a popular coffee shop in the city, remembering that his friend wanted him to pick up some. He said he wanted something cold, like a frappé or an iced coffee. He entered the shop, his order right there on his mind. He wanted to also get a small snack for a surprise, he was pretty hungry anyways. As soon as he entered, he felt it again. A large wave of negative energy hit him. He stood there, wondering what it was. This wasn’t good, even if it was just jitters... He was zoned out until someone bumped into his arm. “Oh! Sorry about that...” a woman said as she turned to face Amani. “You’re fine, sorry for being in your way...” he replied, giving a small, apologetic smile.

Title: Series 2, Chapter 3

After ordering a coffee, Amani sat down by the window and took out his phone, planning to spend his morning in a peaceful way. Today was a nice day out, maybe he could go out in the park after the visit. He scrolled through the news, reading the headlines to see what was going on. “Hey... Do you mind if I sit with you?” A familiar voice spoke. He looked up and set his coffee and phone down. It was the girl that he bumped into earlier. “Umm... Yeah, sure.” He gestured to the seat in front of him. “I’ll have to go in a bit, but I can talk.” He smiled as he took a sip. “Ah, alright. So where do you have to go?” She asked. He set his cup down again. “A friend’s, that’s why I ordered so much.” He said. “Oh, cool!” She smiled. “I haven't told you my name yet, have I? I’m Laylea!” She said cheerfully. Her excitement would’ve caught the attention of some people, but no one seemed to notice her. They instead looked at Amani curiously. “Name’s Amani, nice to meet you I guess.” He smiled and held his hand out. She shook it and they began to talk for a while

Title: Series 2, Chapter 4

After quite a bit of talking, Amani and Laylea held their empty cups carefully as each got up to dispose of them. He was going to be late for the visit if he didn’t leave soon... He grabbed his bag of snacks and walked with Laylea to the door. “It was nice talking with you, hope to see you around some time!” He smiled. He looked at the small piece of paper that he had placed in her pocket. Written on it was his phone number and a small message telling her to call anytime. “You too Amani!” She waved as she stood still in front of the café door.

A little while later, just as he was about to knock on his friend’s door, his phone began to ring. He walked a little bit away from the door and took the call. “Hello?” He answered. “Hey... There’s something I forgot to tell you Amani...” Laylea’s voice spoke softly on the other end. “What is it...?” It seemed somewhat urgent, making him a bit worried. “Have you noticed anything strange lately? Such as unusual people doing unusual things? Or have you just gotten a really bad feeling...” she spoke softly. Amani paused. What kind of a question was that? Why was she even asking it? How did she even know? “U-uh...” he muttered. “Y-yeah... I guess so... What about it...?” He asked, his voice had the smallest hint of fear in it. “Alright... Then that means we are the only ones that are safe...” Her voice... it sounded ominous... Amani’s eyes widened. What did she mean by that?!? “There have been these things that are running around... They are not only a danger to everyone, but they can quickly become everyone too... They are an infection in society, one that can’t be stopped unless one of us kills them...” she talked slowly and quietly, but it was almost as if she was right in his ear... “W-what in the world...?” He dropped his phones and stared at the horizon, terrified and confused. Maybe he should just knock on the door and try to forget about that...

Title: Series 2, Chapter 5

He slowly bent down to grab his phone, only to see that the call had ended. He hadn’t thought of that detail much since he was still in shock. He slowly stuffed it in his pocket and made his way to the door, giving 3 small knocks. One... Two... Th- His third knock was cut off by the opening door revealing a familiar smile behind it. “You finally made it!” He chuckled as he gestured for Amani to come in. He had always been the forgiving and patient type, not bothered by the fact that Amani was always late. This time was no different. “Hey Itaro...” Amani mumbled as he greeted his friend. Itaro noticed the not-so-pleasant mood but said nothing about it. “You brought some snacks! Coincidentally I made my own!” he laughed. “Take a seat and I’ll go get em!” There it was a again... that weird feeling that something was off... He would just have to ignore it for now...

After a minute or two. Itaro came back with a small plate of pretzel-looking snacks. He set them down on the table before sitting down himself. “Come on! Try it!” Itaro encouraged as he took a bite of Amani’s treat. Reluctantly, he took a bite. It tasted good at first but it started to taste worse and worse. He began coughing... Something wasn’t right with it... Was it poisoned?! “W-what.. the h-hell!” He barely managed to get out in between his coughs. That warning Laylea gave... about the strange feelings he had... He moved his hand to his pocket to be as subtle as possible. Suddenly, he felt the impact of a punch being thrown at him. He didn’t even know where due to how quick that pain spread. He slowly opened his eyes, just to see a dark figure standing over him. He knew that it was saying something, but it was so muffled and soft... With the last bit of his strength, he got out his pocket knife and thrust it into the figure. He didn’t care if he was going to die here due to some poison... The figure fell with a thud and his vision turned black
