Honestly, i know the basics of the game. But I don't know what steps should I take before I could go shiny hunting, getting legendaries, and all of that good stuff. I just really need to know what the heck should I do as a starting point.

The most basic thing you can start off with is clicking!
that'll be the quickest way to earn some PD and hatch your eggs.
Once you've collected enough PD, you can start buying important upgrades to help you on your quest to eventually start (efficiently) shiny hunting.

Highly recommended first items to get once you have enough is;
Amulet coin - Doubles money received when interacting with Pokémon and eggs.
Flame orb - A hot orb that speeds up egg hatching. All of your eggs gain 10 more EHP per interaction.
Pokeradar - A high-tech device that counts your hatched Pokémon. It saves the chain of Pokémon with the same species that you have hatched in a row.

To begin shiny hunting once you're more familiar with it, the wiki guide also explains it well;
Alternatively, once you can start sending pokemon out on rumble missions; take a look at the wiki rumbling guide :)
it'll help you collect gems (on rare occasions star pieces which sell for about 50k PD), and mystery keys/boxes (the most important tbh) to help you get more PD/rare items. (mystery boxes have a chance at containing legendary maps/dragon gems, etc)
