Forum-Index → General Discussion → Other adoptables sitesThe shelter has 2 parts to it, an egg shelter, or one where you can adopt released pokemon. I've gotten a lot of megas, and even a lot of legendaries that way.
The forums seem slower, though you do get a notification that someone's commented on a forum thread. Eggs from the lab and such also don't break shiny chains and you can have several going at once. Donations are much different as well. Rather than a currency, it's points. You donate, and put the points into a certain power. Once that power is filled, there are three days where there's a multiplier on shelter grabs, and all interactions. The first day however, everyone online gets a free mega stone.
You have a lot less storage space there though. I find myself deleting more pokemon I collect--although unlike here, the Pokedex information is kept. I do keep the "lonely" pokemon, I just can seem to let them go. You can't interact with stored pokemon either, so there's no need to worry about them evolving if you don't want them to.
I guess I adore Pokeheroes and GPX for different reasons, but to be honest, Pokeheroes will always have a special place in my heart--I PM'd Riako one year wishing him Merry Christmas, and he messaged me back with a very kind note.
