It was then until he noticed a small Pokemon, lying down on the grass. A Plusle, to be precise, and they appears to still be alive. Balsagoth decided to get closer, to try and check if they are still alive and breathing. The rise of their body indicates that they are still breathing.
Feeling a little bit relieved, Balsagoth then tried to wake them up.
"Hey, hey dude. You okay? C'mon, you'll get cold sleeping here."
"Uh, yeah? Did you fall down from the tree and hit your head so hard you forgot who you are?"
Maybe they fell down too hard and got a concussion, passed out and was saved by him. Saving someone isn't on the top of his to-do list, but he'll take it, as long as they don't think too highly of him. He's not about that life.
Well, at least they're still alive, he thought to himself.
"I can go take you to a doctor if you want to. God I was just about to relax by the river... But whatever."
"And I don't need a doctor! Or at least I don't think there's a doctor around here who'd know how a human turned to a Pokemon... Right?" she muttered the last part to herself.
"Ah man screw this!" Aerae shook her head as she stares at the Gengar in determination. "Anyway, the name's Aerae, but for practicality sake please call me Rei since it's easier, tho I'm alright witha my nicknames as long as they're not bad. What's your name?" she rightens her scarfs and holds out one of her paw.
Or at least I don't think there's a doctor around here who'd know how a human turned to a Pokemon...
Her words came back to him suddenly. So she's supposed to be a human? Why is a human here of all places?
Balsagoth swallowed his questions back for another day, realizing that his stomach starts to rumble, begging for him to offer food. Chuckling from the growling sound that suddenly erupted from his stomach, he asked the Plusle standing in front of him.
"Say, want some sandwich?"
Óf all the things I could've said...' she shook her head slight and took her pack, seeing the insides. "Hm, water, flashlight, my books and cases, most of them are here..." she muttered quietly. Strapping it back against her back, she slowly and carefully unwound her scarf, checking for any damages, and to her relief, found none. "And my scarf is alright too~" she wraps it back again around her neck, snuggling happily on it.
Hearing a loud rumble, she turned back to Gengar, who only chuckled at himself. Being offered food makes her feel very conflicted. 'Hm... On one hand I'm hungry and it's free food... But on the other hand he's a stranger and don't want to be indebted to some strangers... And he might want to eat them all alone too... Should I or sho-' her musing was cut off by the loud rumble coming out from her stomach.
"Um, if the offer still stands, is it alright?" she asked quietly, feeling a tad embarrassed as she pat her belly as through it'd stop it from screaming for food.
The forest is known to be quite secluded, though sometimes rescue teams are wandering around here to do missions. Actually, now that he think about it, that scarf sort of indicated that Rei might be a part of a rescue team. Maybe she was separated from their group?
"Say Rei, are you a part of a rescue team? What team are you on?"
She ignored the tingling sensation she had felt after Bal's remark, knowing it's her paranoid mind at works again. 'Stupid Bal, I swear I'm gonna hit him later after this.' she glared at him for a few moments before looking forward again.
Too wrapped up against her thoughts, she was startled when Bal called her. "Ë-eh a rescue team? What's that?" she cocked her head slight, confusion evident in both her expression and voice.
Bal looked back immediately after hearing Rei's question. Oh, so maybe she's not a part of a rescue team after all. Why the white scarf though?
"A rescue team is a rescue team. They save other Pokemon through mission. That's a common knowledge you know."
"Nah, you're too cute and nice to be a scary ghost, even if you're a ghost type~" she giggled as she happily skip next to him.
"Rescue team is a team that rescues others huh.. That's pretty literal" she mused. "And missions? What kind of missions are they like? Are they cool, hard, or just your typical save-the-princess kinda thing?" her eyes sparkled as she bombarded Bal and continue to tug him.
Bal himself liked solitude. It's peaceful, he doesn't need to care for others, and he only need to take care of himself. I suppose if his previous life looked at his life now, Bal would definitely enjoy his current life.
"Who said I wasn't cursed or hexed until I became a Gengar?" Bal chuckled, tugging his hand away from Rei's grip. "But who knows, only Arceus knows who I was before I turn into a Gengar."
"And rescue team's mission is pretty straightforward, but most of the mission depends on the rank and strength, you see. But I suppose if you were one you wouldn't be that strong, ufufufu~" Bal teased the Plusle.
"Hm, I still think you're a pretty good guy, underneath all that grumpiness~" she smirked.
She jumped back and looked at Bal. "How dare you, I'm also pretty strong you know!" she looks offended by that statement, hitting Bal in annoyance.
"Though, I doubt you want to fight me since I'm much stronger than you, nishishishishi~" Bal gave her an irritating laugh. He very much enjoyed teasing this Pokemon.
His growling stomach interrupted his teasing, causing him to sigh and pulled out a sandwich from the basket. Oh well, he was hungry. No shame in eating right now.
"Wow, what a way to spoil the mood, geez. I'm not in the mood for any Pidgeys."
