Can you shiny hunt without the radar or is it not even worth the effort without it? What are the benefits of it?

Shiny hunting without a pokeradar is like the same chance of getting a shiny ~~or mega~~ from the lab. A shiny hunt radar is for increasing the chance for a shiny and the amount of pokemon you hatched like a chain. ~~idk if im wrong about this so srry if im wrong~~
