So I finally have 15 magikarp and went to exchange them for the fishing rod with the mermaid and it's saying I don't have enough. Anyone else have this problem. Some of my imaginary are getting close to evolving, so I was trying to exchange them quickly before they do.

Those Magikarp must be obtained via fishing at Emera Beach and they have to be in your Fishing Box to count. Any Magikarp not from the beach, or ones that you’ve adopted will not count towards the 15 needed. :)
