~Walking Through Mirrors~ (Semi-Lit; Open/Accepting; PG-13)
Forum-Index → Roleplay → Inactive RPs → ~Walking Through Mirrors~ (Semi-Lit; Open/Accepting; PG-13)It was the average day in the City That Never Sleeps... People scurrying through the streets to get to their bus stop, cars going this way and that, the occasional swear being thrown out the window as they went. They were far too busy with their daily lives to notice anything out of the ordinary, like vanishing mirrors... Or someone coming out of a mirror. Hidden in one of New York's many back alleys, a thrown out mirror rested against the alley, it's smooth surface warping and shifting.
It rippled like disrupted water before Kurox shot through it, a little cloud of sand following after him. "Note to self... Never get a running start when going to New York..." he muttered to himself, having almost smashed into the other building across from the mirror. Shaking some sand from his hair, he looked back to the reflected surface, frowning that his image seemed to be blurred as if the glass was dirty.
To any normal human that's all it would seem to be, a dirty mirror. But to a Chosen... He could see the Imagination fading fast from the mirror, and he dully noted that he wouldn't be able to use this one to get back to Carthan. With a sigh he clenched his fist, the mirror cracking and breaking.
With a frown he joined those traversing the streets, a few people giving him odd looks at the amount of sand he still had on him, but he payed them no mind. He needed to get to Central Park, a place the Key said would be a meeting point for any and all Chosen in the area. He only hoped that everyone in the vicinity had gotten the message, and he wouldn't be left standing there like an idiot for the next couple of hours...
Sapphire stepped out of a glass window in an alley in New York and hit her head on the building across from where she came out. OOWWW! Great this is going to leave a nasty bump. She looked out from the alley, seein everyone pushing to get along and heard plenty on yelling and honking. So this is the great New-York City. I guess my expectations were too high. She sighed and tried to casually walk out of the alleyway but just ended up being pushed around by the people in the crowd.
People looked at her as a cute teenager came out of an alley but, didn't pay too much attention to her. She looked towards the sky and saw pollution. She frowned and sighed. I've been in the other side so long I forgot about all the pollution and wars happening here. Well now I have to find Central Park but where is it? Agghhh I wish the Key gave me more instructions but I guess he expected more from an Image-Fracture. Sapphire sighed and continued to look for Central Park.
Frantically running to the back room and hanging up her apron, she let her short hair out of it's pony tail and made a dash for the door, checking herself out. Her manager suddenly called for something behind her.
"Hey, Cali! I know you're done, but could you handle a few dishes first? We're understaffed right now and-"
"No." Cali suddenly cut him off, colder than the usual bubbly girl that the manager was use to. Seeing the dead serious look on her face as she looked over her shoulder at him, he almost saw a different person. "Sorry, but I'm really late for something very important. I'm off the clock, you'll just have to find someone else." With that, she made out the door.
A few steps later, Cali blinked a few times and looked back. "Wasn't the manager... When did I leave? Oh well, I'm late!" Taking off at a sprint she took a back route that dodged the crowds, on her way to central. By now, she knew which ways she couldn't take and what was safe. Plenty of times she'd landed in bad situations. Oddly enough, she couldn't ever recall how they ended. The psychologist she had told her she had memory issues, possibly triggered by traumatic situations.
Finally, she made it to the park. Finding the meet up spot, she saw another guy standing there. Running over, she smiled brightly. "Hi! Are you maybe one of the people I'm suppose to be meeting?" she asked cheerfully.

Kurox blinked a few times, not quite expecting such a bright attitude in such a bustling and dark city. He smiled though, the glow of Imagination radiating off of the girl in front of him. "I might just be one. My name's Kurox, resident of Carthan." he replied, the smile not leaving his face. "And I'm guessing you're one of those people as well, huh?"
"I'm Cali!" the brunette introduced cheerfully to all those gathering. "I like to spend my time in Carthan, too. I've found myself in Rowateg a few times too, though. Minus the fighting, it reminds me a lot of New York. This is my real home." Looking at the time on her cheapo little watch, she shrugged her shoulders in and crossed her arms, blushing a bit. "Sorry I'm bit late, too... I got stuck in work. My manager always has extra things for me to do before I leave."

Sapphire came running towards the group of people already there knowing who they were. "Hi, sorry I'm late, I'm awful with directions," she said panting. She looked up at them knowing their name as part of the Key's quest for her. "My names Sapphire," she said not panting as much any more. She stood up straight to look at what she had missed. Looks like Sakura fell. I should have gotten here earlier, I feel like a useless Image-Fracture.
His face grew a bit serious, and he looks around as if someone was listening in. "Anyone have any idea as to how to find one person in a city with over two million people...?" he asked, the thought dawning on his just moments ago. "I mean, even with Imagination, it's not going to be easy, and we all know how the Key is with instructions...."
Sapphire looked over to Sakura and nodded. Her head stung and she gently touched the bump on her head from earlier flinching a little. She moved her hand away and said, "I can feel it sometimes too when it's strong enough." She moved her head to glance at each persons face and though about the sandstorm in Carthan that Kurox spoke about and brushed some sand from her hair. At least I didn't have to find a Mirror to leave or I'd have a lot more sand on me.
"Same here as the rest of ya, a strong enough imagination I can feel from a good distance," Jacob nodded to the other girls talking. "The strongest ones, like little kids, I can sense from across a street, but only ones that would rate a nine or a ten." In theory, he could be recruiting those kids. He'd always heard about plenty of Mirror Walkers that had been brought into the business young, but something didn't feel right to him. Maybe because he was recruited as a teen, he thought it would be unfair. "But I think Cali has a good idea in general. Maybe not restaurants specifically, but maybe we could break down the search areas, and look during times when there's a lot of people out of their houses."

(Hello? Is anyone here not busy? Character can't really do much until you guys start searching or something.)
Sapphire watched as Sakura talked to the girl over there. "That's definitely her but I hope Sakura isn't being to direct. Hearing 'Hey you have magic abilities to go through mirrors to different worlds and you have the ability to save imagination' isn't something people take lightly. At least with her friendly personality hopefully she'll be nice," Sapphire said to to group trying to hear what Sakura was saying to the girl.
Kurox hadn't said much, wanting to listen rather than voice his thoughts. He, too, had felt the power that had entered Central Park, and when the girl left, he had to resist the urge to run after her. That girl was the missing piece to save the Key, and they were letting her get away?!
"Did she say anything else..?" he asked Sakura, shifting on his feet. "She's going to be a complicated one, isn't she?" Of course, any child or person had reason to be suspicious and stubborn when confronted by someone they didn't know. They'd unfortunately have to be patient with this.
