Lion smiled in amusement, and watched as the Remoraid looked at
Faye in slight confusion. The Pokemon smiled and continued after
its friends not caring if Faye were following or not. Lion blinked,
and looked back up towards the surface of the ocean. He swam back
up.
The Remoraid swam downwards taking a small current. They weren't
really heading anywhere in particular. Lion broke the surface, and
took in a few breaths he looked around for Faye and blinked. He
looked at the water hoping she'd resurface soon.
"Wait!" Faye thought, falling behind slightly as the
Remoraid left. She began to feel slightly light headed, but in a
panic realized how far below the surface she was.
Lion blinked and looked at the waters surface once more. He then
took a deep breath and dived under once more. The remoraid swam
away from Faye one of them looked back to her and waved its fin.
Lion blinked and forced himself not to gasp as when he found Faye.
He swiftly swam towards her, and grabbed her wrist. He then used
his free hand to swim to the surface. "Blast!" Lion yelled as he
was too far from the shore to swim back. His Blastoise looked up
and saw Lion and Faye in the ocean. He swam over swiftly and
grabbed both trainers before gently placing them on the sandy
beach. Lion lay Faye down and gently nudged her shoulder. "F-Faye?
Come on get up please." He whispered in fear.
Togekiss flew over, concerned, nudging the unresponsive Faye, who's
chest barely rose in breath anymore. She motioned to Lion to get
help before pressing gently on Faye's chest in attempt to get the
water she'd swallowed out and some air in.
Lion nodded to Togekiss and thought for a moment. He had been
forced to take CPR classes when he was in Falkner's gym training to
be a Gym leader. "You might need this in the future. Who knows
if a Pokémon gets hurt in battle and can't breathe." Falkner's
words from training began to repeat in his mind. He then went to
Faye's side, and began to press her chest, not hard enough to hurt
her, but not gentle enough to make the water stay in her. He was
focused slightly. "Come on Faye." He said quietly.
Lion gently helped Faye into a sitting position and pat her on the
back. "It's alright just let it out." He said gently and glanced at
Togekiss and the lifeguard. He sighed in slight relief that Faye
was coughing the water out, he waited for the lifeguard to help out
but stayed by her side.
Lion nodded, "it'd be for the best if you went. Just to make sure
you were alright." He said gently and was still rubbing her back in
an attempt to get any more water out of her.
Lion got to his feet, and recalled his Pokémon. He grabbed his bag
as well as Faye's, and put the Togepi plushie in his bag. He
followed Faye and the lifeguard quietly.
