After depositing the bags where instructed, Aki and Flair returned
to their bunk, Aki sitting down to scribble in his journal, while
Flair played around with her ribbon, playing with it like a doll or
something.
"Well from what he told me. He's never been in Taiyo City, but he
woke up there in a confused state. After that he naturally freaked
out and ran from Chomp, who lets be honest here would you run from
that sweetie?" She asked.
Hino shook his head slightly "Chance just because you hatched
Chomp, doesn't mean no one will run from him" he said slightly
amused.
Chance shook her head and sighed "anyway. He then ran into the
building and only got a small, but deep, scratch. That's not enough
to cause blunt force trama and make him have amnesia" she said
gently.
Scorch looked up and nodded silently he tried to remember more.
Arwen sighed, It's not like there isn't an easier mission. The
problem is that current missions seem to only have two stages-
Those way above their level and those which are simply WAY too
easy. They didn't really care about the reward, they were more
about adventure and scenery.
"The suffering of being a complete newbie..." Arwen mumbled under
their breath. After a moment, they seemed to return to their
natural state of cheeriness "Well, Tomorrow is another Day! Plus i
cant go on a mission without Prim so i would have to wait anyways,
Silly me!" Is there a time when Arwen can actually keep their
thoughts in their brain instead of saying them out loud? No.
Certainly not.
"Of course." Spring and picked Scorch up gently and walked out of
the medical center. She walked into Chomp's bunk and set him down
in the open nest next to Chomp's.
Chomp looked up from his nest and shook some straw from his scales.
"Hey Spring. Is Scorch staying with me?" He asked slightly confused
and looked at Scorch kindly.
Scorch looked around the bunk. He was a bit too shy to say anything
at all.
"Yep!" Spring said with a smile then noticed Scorch being shy "It's
ok sweetie, Chomp won't bite even if his name is Chomp." She said
with a small chuckle and stood up "Well I have to go make dinner so
I'll see you two at dinner!" she said and hopped away.
"Think we'd have time to go on a mission?" Aki asked, flipping the
page in his journal to continue writing. "There's probably an easy
one we can do.
"I don't even know what time it is." Flair mused. The idea of
talking more wasn't becoming more appealing to her. "So I don't
know. Maybe tomorrow we can find something exciting to do
somewhere." She suggested. Aki's eyes brightened as he nodded.
Chomp waved a goodbye and looked at Scorch. "Something wrong? A
Meowth got your tongue?" He asked kindly.
Scorch looked over and tipped his head to the side "no just
confused, and unsure I mean I barely know anyone here" he said
lowly.
Chomp nodded and thought for a moment. "Oh I know how about I
introduce you to Aki and Flair. I mean they might be glad to see
you're alright anyway." He said kindly and dragged Scorch out of
the room. He went towards Flair and Aki's bunk.
Hearing footsteps, Flair hopped to her feet and scrambled to the
entrance to peek out. She smiled and waved. "Hey Chomp. Hi,-- Uh--
Scorch, right? Was it Scorch?"
Aki shrugged, leafing through his journal. "It was Scorch." He
grinned and looked up. "Nice to see you on your paws again."
Scorch nodded in agreement and looked over to Chomp. "Scorch, these
are Flair and Aki." He said cheerfully. "They're part of a really
cool team called...um Roue" he said and tried to think of the team
name.
"Team?" Scorch asked and tipped his head to the side. "What's a
team?"
"Wow, you really aren't from around here." Aki mused, setting down
his journal. "We're an exploration team! We work together to
explore mystery dungeons and help other Pokémon out!" He explained
proudly. "Uhn. You know what a mystery dungeon is, right? No
offense."
Flair rolled her eyes and gestured for them to come in if they
wanted too.
Chomp nodded a thanks to Flair and lead Scorch into the room. "No I
don't know what a mystery dungeon is" he admitted quietly.
Chomp tipped his head to the side slightly surprised by his
response. "How hard did you hit your head anyway?" He asked
evenly.
"Not hard enough to cause memory loss. I-I think it's because I'm
not from around here, and I'm not sure how I got into your city" he
whispered uneasily.
"Hmm" Chomp muttered, and glanced at Aki and Flair. "Strange
anyways a mystery dungeon is a place that's always got a different
path to take" he said cheerfully. "Maybe you passed out while in a
mystery dungeon and we're teleported to town?" He suggested
unconvinced.
"Yeah, that's pretty much what a mystery dungeon is." Aki agreed
cheerfully. "Each one has different Pokémon and items in it, so
they're really fun to explore!" He added, and then looked at Scorch
curiously. "Hm. We don't normally see any Cyndaquil around here, I
don't think. Apart from the guildmaster."
"Wouldn't he have been transported to the town he was originally
in?" Flair asked carefully. "You seemed really panicked when you
woke up. Do you remember anything?"
Scorch shook his head in response to Flair. "No I don't remember
anything other than my name. Though Chance thinks I was a human
before I arrived here. I kinda agree with her. I mean-" he cut
himself off and looked over to Chomp unsure if he should say
anymore.
Flair blanched. "H-human?" She asked in shock, glancing over to
Aki, who'd frozen as well. She'd begun to draw conclusions, but she
hadn't voiced them. After all, she'd woken up knocked out on a
beach, so where was she to comment on it? "What makes you say
that?" She asked gently, sitting down and placing her paws in her
lap.
Scorch noticed their reactions and shied back slightly. "W-well I
woke up in the middle of a town with no injuries, and the only two
things I remember from my past were that Pokémon don't speak
normally, and my name" he said quietly.
"What do you mean, 'don't speak normally'?" Aki asked in confusion.
"We talk just like everyone else!"
Flair glanced at him for a moment and made a 'calm down' gesture.
She turned back to Scorch. "Honestly, I guess it's plausible? I
mean, this has probably happened somewhere before, right? Let's
see. Have you had any weird blackouts or visions?"
Scorch flinched slightly and backed up again. Chomp stopped behind
him and pat his back reassuringly. "W-well where I came from
Pokemon would only say their names. There were people who could
speak and understand Pokémon but they were rare. I think?" He said
uncertainly. "I only remember a voice asking me random questions
and then a bright light?" He said trying to recount his dream he
had before waking up in Taiyo City.
