Greenbush moved forward as well, digging steadily, lost in thought. He wasn't able to remember how and why they'd lost all of the apprentices previous mentors.

Flamestar continued to dig, with the help of Lilypaw, and Tigerpaw. "This reminds me...the storm season will be here soon...we need to be careful about the river as it'll flood the cave" Flamestar meowed cautiously to Greenbush. He remembered the last storm that flooded the cave, and killed almost all the warriors.

Greenbush shivered. "Yeah. I keep forgetting that's how we lost most of the mentors.." He shook himself. "How soon do you think?" He asked worriedly. There had been no warning from StarClan last time; then again, even StarClan could be wrong at times.

Flamestar parted his jaws, and looked up to the sky. "I say within a quarter moon. I'll assign more guards at the camp entrance; and they will scent to see if a huge storm is coming" he meowed more determined not to loose more cats.

Greenbush nodded. "This time, I'll move some of the herbs up to higher ground." He said. Several cats had died from greencough last time. He was not making that mistake ever again.

Flamestar nodded in approval, and finished digging. "I think that's deep enough" he meowed kindly, and looked over to Stormflame one last time.

Greenbush nodded, pulling back and shaking his paws. He moved towards Stormflame and touched his nose to the elders fur before grasping his scruff. As much as he didn't want to bury the elder and accept his death, what was done was done.

Tigerpaw looked into the hole and closed her eyes sadly. "May StarClan light your path, Stormfire. May you find good hunting, swift running, and shelter when you sleep" Tigerpaw whispered sadly, and vaguely remembered what Flamestar said to her mother when she died. Flamestar nodded in agreement, and Lilypaw looked away.

Greenbush dipped his head in silence. He would let the other cats mourn for a bit before burying the elder completely.

A few heartbeats pass, and Flamestar begins to burry the elder. "I think death is still my least favorite part of clan life" he meowed sadly. "But it's a part we have to face..."

Greenbush nodded sadly, sweeping dirt into the hole with his tail and paws. "Death is inevitable for us all." He murmured in agreement.

Tigerpaw, and Lilypaw nodded in agreement, and the two finished burying Stormfire. Tigerpaw then looked around once she was done. "We better head back to camp" Flamestar meowed softly.

Greenbush dipped his head once more. As painful as it was to admit it, it was time for him to move on. The clan wouldn't always heal themselves. He stood and stretched, shaking his paws gently. "I suppose so."

Lilypaw went back to camp quickly leaving Tigerpaw, and Flamestar behind. Flamestar walked to camp a bit more slowly. "We should move the camp to higher ground when we see stronger rain...have you remembered where the second camp is?" he asked Greenbush kindly.

"Not a lot now. Just start stocking extra catmint, and water mint there for now" he meowed kindly, and nodded. "It's just a good thing the flower den isn't effected in the flood due to the cavern being covered by a rock, and on higher ground" he muttered lowly.

Greenbush nodded in agreement. "StarClan knows how bad it'll be this time," He murmured. "We lost so many last time. It won't get us without a warning this time." He sounded much more determined, pace slightly quicker. "I'll start moving a bit."

Greenbush snorted in amusement. "I will." He said, whiskers twitching slightly. "Will you be okay?" He asked carefully. Loss affected cats differently sometimes.
