Dawnpelt looked up at the ominously dark clouds growing in the sky. She scuffed the dry earth beneath her paws, and saddened at imagining the ground turning to mud in the next day or so.




Duskwind followed Tigerpaw's gaze, watching the storm form in the sky. "At least we live in a cave. " he chirped, " A little rain never hurt anyone."

Tigerpaw shuffled her paws, and blinked "though the cave could flood from the lake nearby....it happened last time remember. Most the Warriors died" she said sadly,mand drew her ears back.

Duskwind's ears flicked back, embarrassed, " Ah, well, yeah I guess there's that. Hm...Why do we still live here if that's a possibility?, " Duskwind said, suddenly looking around the cave with unease.

"Because the backup camp isn't safe enough to live there permemantly" Tigerpaw meowed quietly, and placed the last of the herbs down. "There aren't enough bushes to keep us all sheltered from lightning."

Tigerpaw nodded in agreement and sighed "I guess we'll just need to hope StarClan gives us a sign. Either for a new home, a way to survive the floods, or a new camp" she meowed softly.

Duskwind smiled, his tail swishing on the cave floor. " Yeah, come on Starclan, give us a break already, " he joked. " Do you want any fresh-kill? I don't think there's a pile yet, but I can go catch you something before the rains start," he offered.

Duskwind smiled, " Right away, " he mewed, and bound for the cave entrance and out into the Desertclan territory. His ears pricked at the sound of approaching thunder, and he headed towards a swatch of vegetation near the camp. He caught the scent of rabbit, and slowed his pace before stopping to listen and watch. His eyes rested on a suspicious bush, as he waited for the right moment. Soon, a rabbit stepped out of bushes cautiously, nibbling on some grass. Duskwind tensed for a moment before leaping directly onto the rabbit, breaking its neck. "Perfect," he mumbled through rabbit's fur, and he padded back towards camp.

Tigerpaw continued to sort through the herbs. She then spotted an herb that was dry and burnt. "Odd..." She meowed quietly. The wind then picked up dragging the burnt herb through the sand, and landing it in a puddle.

Duskwind padded up to Tigerpaw, placing the rabbit near her. " There ya go. Doesn't get any fresher than that, " he mewed. He tilted his head as he noticed Tigerpaw watching her herbs.

Tigerpaw had a feeling that she should have known what that meant, but she shook her head. Maybe it's from lack of sleep... she thought to herself, and blinked up to Duskwind. "Thanks" she meowed kindly, and noticed how plump the rabbit was. "Would you like some? I don't think I'll eat it all..." She meowed kindly, and glanced back over to the puddle.

"Not sure?" Tigerpaw meowed uncertainly. "There was just a burnt herb in the fresh herb pile, and the breeze blew it into a puddle..."

Duskwind's tail tapped the ground as he contemplated, " So...maybe someone who is already burned is going to get wet? That sounds like a bad deal for them, " he said, smirking.

Tigerpaw purred in partial amusement, and flicked an ear as it began to rain. "Perhaps. I'm not sure what, or if, it means anything. Though it'll be reviled soon enough..." She meowed gently.

Duskwind flicked his tail playfully and then looked up at the rain. " We better finish this rabbit before we get flooded, " he joked, and began to start eating.

Tigerpaw nodded, and went to the rabbit. She then began to tear into her part of it. The comment about the den drowning bothered her, thats how Roseheart died...what will happen to the clan if it were to flood again? she thought in concern.

Duskwind frowned as he watched Tigerpaw get lost in her thoughts again. " Hey. Would it make you feel better if I suggested to Flamestar to take some...preemptive measures in case of flooding?, " he said, in between bites of rabbit.

Tigerpaw shook her head "Flamestar already assigns three warriors to guard the camp when it begins to rain, and the camp is evacuated at the first signs of flooding" she meowed softly.
