Dawnpelt brightened a bit at seeing her brother smile.
Duskwind watched the kits carefully, interested in what Redkit would do.
Duskwind glanced at Ashpelt, sure that he was enough supervision for the playing kits, and padded into the makeshift camp that Pineclan had shown them. She padded around, inspecting the dens.
Sunkit leapt into the throng of kits, knocking both Bramblekit and Redkit onto the ground in a clump. She had her paws wrapped around her brother while she nipped at Redkit’s tail.
Duskwind chuckled, having now moved in close enough to sit near Ashfur. He wondered if he would be able to get a moment to talk to the kit, perhaps get to know her a bit while they were staying in Pineclan. I wonder how long well even be here..., he wondered.
Ashpelt looked over to Duskwind before whispering gently "you'd like to take to we wouldn't you?" He asked quietly.
Bramblekit squeaked and ran to Redkit's side. "I'll save you" he mewled and playfully tackled Sunkit. Redkit scrambled to her paws and swiped at Sunkit's ear.
Sunkit mewled dramatically, flailing her paws around as she was attacked by the other kits. " Ah, I'm being attacked by the buzzards!," she cried, and promptly nipped Redkit's tail as it swung by her face.
Redkit purred and swept her tail across the ground she was about to leap when Icestar walked into the temporary camp.
Dawnpelt walked to where Flamestar was sitting, figuring it would be important to let both of the leaders in on the situation at the same time. She sat down, and carefully picked out her words. " Yesterday morning, Ashpelt and I ran into Hawkpool on a patrol. She had been coming to Desertclan to share a message, but we were soon attacked by several rogue cats, " Dawnpelt looked sadly at Icestar. " Our camp was under attack at this time. There were so many of them, we were outnumbered before the battle began. Hawkpool told us to go defend our camp, and we left her fighting with rogues. By the time the battle was over, we had lost, and...," Dawnpelt paused, " We found that Hawkpool had been killed," she said softly.
