Sunkit looked sadly at the old wound of Tigerstripe’s. “ Fighting is so scary,” she said. “ but I guess that’s why we have you to help us,” Sunkit smiled a little as she spoke.
Tigerstripe nodded and purred warmly. "Exactly why I'm here" she said to Sunkit kindly.
Sunkit purred softly, enjoying Tigerstripe's presence. She looked up at her father, " What will you do today" she wondered if he was allowed to leave camp or not yet.
"I might clean the warrior den and nursery seeing as there isn't any apprentices yet" he meowed and glanced at Tigerstripe who nodded.
"So long as he doesn't rough house with Bramblekit he'll be allowed to do this" she mewled to Sunkit. "Can you make sure he doesn't get into any scraps with your brother?" She asked the kit kindly.
Sunkit nodded, "I'll do my best," she mewed, padding close to Ashpelt.
Tigerstripe nodded and flicked her tail to Ashpelt. "Alright you can go" she meowed kindly. Ashpelt nodded and glanced at Sunkit.
"So would you like to help me clean the warrior's den?" He asked kindly as he walked it of the nursery. "After all you need to make sure I don't get a bramble to attack me right? He purred.
Dawnpelt shook her head, " No, sorry. I'll talk to you about it later," she mewed, dipping her head apologetically. Dawnpelt exited the leader's den, padding down the high ledge. She would speak to Fallentree and Feathercloud when they returned from the midday patrol, she noted to herself. She thought for a moment of a third cat who could go, and her brother came to mind. Maybe I'll give him something useful to do. Flaws aside, he is a quiet stalker..., she thought, as she looked for Duskwind around the camp.
Sunkit laughed, "Brambles don't attack unless their my brother," she said, walking along side Ashpelt. " He's so wild,"
Sunkit looked taken aback at the notion, " That would be a very bad trade," she said, as they neared the nursery. She could hear Bramblekit and Flowerheart's voices coming from within.
Ashpelt flicked her tail he then purred. "I think it would be a bad trade too" he mewed in agreement and stopped at he nursery.
Sunkit leapt into the nursery, excitedly, " Bramblekit! " she mewed, " We're to do apprentice duty today with Ashpelt," she said, leaping onto her brother.
"But we won't be apprentices for another five almost four moons" Bramblekit yawned and looked up in slight confusion.
Ashpelt purred and sat by the entrance "I need help with the den. If I don't get help Tigerstripe might not let me leave the camp anymore" he meowed warmly. Bramblekit looked up and bounded to his father.
"Alright I'm up!"
Flowerheart purred a goodbye and watched as the two kits left the nursery with their father. Ashpelt looked at Bramblekit and Sunkit. He then purred slightly and saw Dawnpelt walking along the camp. "Morning Dawnpelt" Ashpelt purred warmly.
Dawnpelt was shaken from her thoughts, and brightened as she saw her kin. " Good morning. Where are you all off to?", she said, rubbing Ashpelt's flank affectionately.
"We're going to clean the warrior's den!" Bramblekit meowed boldly and ran over to Dawnpelt. "Ashpelt asked us to help since he's allowed to do small things around camp" he meowed kindly.
Dawnpelt smiled, giving Ashpelt a funny look, " Putting our kits to apprentice work already?" she teased. To be honest, she thought that was a good way for Ashpelt to spend time. He always did get antsy when confined to the camp.
