"And our final tribute for Alola is... Hau!"
Gladion was laying awake. It was the night before the games. The six regions had to sacrifice four people each for the games, and Hau was one of them. Gladion had been ready to volunteer for Hau, and would've had his own name not been called.
He couldn't help but stay up. Gladion was used to being awake so late. It was almost two in the morning, and he was extremely nervous. Sure, he was ready to die, but what about the others? He would break if he lost Hau or Lauren. They were like his younger siblings! And Guzma, the closest person to a father to Lauren.
Why did Guzma volunteer for Lillie? It'd be much easier on Lauren if he didn't. But it would be harder on Gladion. Is that why he did it? Because Lauren didn't have any siblings who would miss her?

In the Alola Girls' sleeping rooms, Lauren Amiya was alone. She was the lone female called. Well, that was a lie. Lillie - Gladion's sister - was called, but Guzma volunteered for her. It was a sweet gesture, but if Gladion died in the games? It would be up to Lillie to take care of their mother. She had been asleep for a few hours, but was on the brink of waking up. [wip]
