Newton's Third Law dictates that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction; due to all that killing, there was a lot of saving... of the ant. It survives.

I throw it into the machine, so now it targets itself while trying to get away from itself.

(The Machine is how the Antkill Factory works; it turns normal things into new threats to the ant.)
