It was early in the morning, your ferry was almost in the cove. You had, finally arrived at Pebble Cove in this new region they called Lapis. Beyond the docks, was a fine sand beach, bordered with a grey stone wall, and it's sea, crystal blue. It was empty, being so early and slightly chilly. From your position, you could see the entirety of the small town. 'Small' was not exaggerated. There were about ten houses in total, a taller building which resembled a Pokemon Center and another building, except the only thing you could make out about it was that it was white.

Despite, at first glance, the whole town looked deserted, you spot a figure standing, waiting, on the main pier. And as your ferry rolled in closer, you could identify the figure as female.

Kura stands on the pier, watching the ferry get closer and closer. She'd been asked by Prof. Hawthorn to accompany some trainers on their journey around Lapis. The Professor was like a second father to her - he's known her since birth and is close friends to her parents. Kura had also helped him with his research when she went off on her journey the previous year.

The girl yawned; her waist-length hair, which was a strange teal color, waved with the slight breeze. Meanwhile, the small rock-type Pokemon made a sort of purring noise as it nuzzled against Kura's leg.

Excitement filled Zura as he was about to go to this region. He saw a figure out in the open maybe she was just curious about the ferry and why it's here. Zura wasn't disappointed about the small appearance of the town. It looked to have around 10 houses to him. He just focused on the big building thinking it would be the lab where he would get his partner Pokémon and to start his adventure.

He was almost there, adventure just within his grasp. Though it was chilly he didn't mind he just wanted to start his adventure as soon as possible. "I wonder what Pokémon there are." He whispered.

(Ya I'm fine with the narrating being second person with yous and such.)

Grace smiled and she knew a new journey was ready to be shot down into history, but she was so happy... she started bugging people. She screamed a joyful cry a young girl she was 11. once she saw the town she was disappointed "only 10 houses? no fair! the form told me it was small but I didn't think it would be THAT small." she continued anyways.

"I can't wait until we get our Pokémon! How many choices do you think we will have? Or what type of Pokémon will there be this is a way different region Lapis is the name so there might be things other then the classic Fire,Water, and Grass."

"Heh, yeah I guess and now I know why they call it the Lapis region look at the streets covered in decorations and the ocean is as blue as one because you know.... a lapis can be used as a decoration and they are.... blue.... you know forget it I hope I get a good Pokemon" they arrive at a tall building "hey I think that's the place!"

(holy cheesecake xD I forgot to subscribe to the rp ;-; sorry)

Kura had completely missed the two trainers she was meant to be waiting for. She'd been focusing too much on Pebble Cove's crystal waters. She sighed in annoyance at herself. Her Pokemon hadn't even bothered to remind her about the trainers. Not that it should have been the Pokemon's responsibility...

"What do we do Pearl? Should we try the Professor's lab? Or do we try the Pokemon Center? I'm sure the abnormally tall Pokemon Center may spike some curiosity in them..."

Kura's Pokemon nodded and cheerfully ran around in circles, causing the girl to laugh.

"How about you go to the Pokemon Center, Pearl? I'll go back to the Lab. And if you find them, bring them back?"

Once again, the rock-type Pokemon nodded, this time, with determination. It ran off, towards the Pokemon Center, as fast as its short legs could carry it. Besides, rock type Pokemon aren't the fastest of pokemon. Kura, on the other hand, headed in the opposite direction toward the white building which happened to be Lapis's research lab. She walked inside, to get out of the unusual cold weather and looked around for the Professor.

Zura soon followed the girl into the lab (Omg I'm think of Pokémon soul silver lab music.) And was curios if the professor was here. The girl might be looking for her to.

Inside the Pokemon Lab looked just like you would expect it to be. Inside Hawthorns lab was bright - every wall, floor, ceiling, was white and not a speck of dirt would be found. However, his lab was, in fact, littered with papers or finished and unfinished, mainly unfinished, reports. There were more books on tables that there were on the shelves. As well as, multiple machines (one, you recognize as a PC). There was, also, this weird, circular, machine at the back of the lab, which held multiple Pokeballs.

It was eerily quite in the lab. You would have expected to have seen some researchers or assistants of some sort, but it seemed empty.

Kura hadn't noticed that she'd been followed to the lab. Instead she walked into one of the side rooms. On the door, it read 'Private'. Inside was the Professor's office; she found him writing up a report. She coughed, gaining his attention.

"Oh, hello there, Kura - I didn't notice you arrive. Aren't you supposed to be with the trainers? Where are they?" Hawthorn asked the girl

"I'm afraid I missed them once they left the ship... But I sent Pearl to go look for them"

"I see... Well... Anyway, let me show you the Pokemon I've collected. You see, they belong to an egg group that hasn't been discovered yet."

"Ah, okay then. Shall we go see?"

The Professor nods, and Kura follows him out into the main part of the lab. Before they could see the Pokemon, they ran into a stray trainer that had wondered into the lab.

"Hello." Zura said as the two ran into him. "Um... Nice lab..." He said looking around no dust just papers scattered everywhere.
"There's another trainer outside we were the only one who could go... Her name is Grace. I'm Zura." He explained eye balling the machine.

Hiryo was one of the last passengers to get out of the ferry, though he knew where the others went he didn't follow them. He walked to the building that seemed taller than the others, so he went to the front of the building and saw a sign saying "Pokecenter". He thought maybe this place is where he can find the 'so called' Professor Hawthorn that will give him his first pokemon.

As he went Inside he saw a small rock-type Pokemon, that seemed to be an eevee evolution.

At the Pokemon Center, Pearl (the eeeeloution) sat outside, waiting to ind the lost trainers. Pearl is a very patient and loyal Pokemon - she sat with pride. She spotted a trainer she didn't recognise before which made her feel cautious, that brief moment, before realising that they may have been the trainer she was meant to be looking out for. So, she approached the trainer, greeting him with a 'purr'.

In the Professor's lab, however...

"It's nice to meet you Zura. I suspect you're one of the trainers that are here to help with my research and take part in the gym challenge? Hmm... But there's only one of you. I was expecting two more. You say there's another outside?" Hawthorn says

"I'm sure they're fine Professor. Besides, Pearl will keep them safe, you know she's one of my strongest Pokemon" Kura reassured, secretly praying Pearl had found them and that she hadn't failed the Professor already

"I'm sure she will. Anyway-" Hawthorn eyed the trainer in front of him, "I'm guessing you're here for your starter? Well then, follow me"

Kura and the professor head off to the end of the lab towards the weird, Pokeball containing, machine. They much have been the starters. Although, it was unusual as there are normally three starters. Professor Hawthorn had multiple.

"Whoa! In Unova you only had 3 choices this is amazing!" Zura said.
"So what the choices?" Zura asked looking at the multiple pokeballs inside the machine. He was excited as anyone would be if they saw more then one set of starters. And to start their Pokémon journey.

"That's a good question. There are a total of 18 starters and there are many types to choose from. Have you heard of 'baby Pokemon' before? They're Pokemon I'm currently researching. You're choice of starters are:

Cleffa, Igglybuff, Togepi, Tyrogue, Riolu, Azuril, Elekid, Magby, Mantyke, Bonsly, Happiny, Pichu, Mime Jr, Munchlax, Budew, Chingling, Smoochum and Wynaut.

Every one of these Pokemon need a lot of love and care, which is why these are your choice of starters. You see, the gym challenge doesn't just test your physical strength, but your bonds of friendship. Kura here, was kind of an exception with her Eevee. But since she'd raised it straight from an egg, it had been allowed." He explained to Zura

Kura, on the other hand, rolled her eyes. She wasn't fond of having her life story told, but shrugged it off as usual.

"So have you decided which starter you want? I'd personally take the Bonsly, if I could, because I love rock type Pokemon. But it's your choice" says Kura

A million thoughts ran through Zuras head when he told him all the starters. He knew all of them and what they looked like but this was a difficult choice. 'Just chose what you really want the most.' He thought to himself.
"I chose riolu." Zura decided. Hoping the Pokémon haven't been taken by the third trainer he didn't see.

"Ah, Riolu, the fighting type Pokemon. That's a nice choice for a starter" Says Hawthorn.

The professor turned to the weird machine and picked up a Pokeball. All the Pokeballs looked exactly the same. It was almost impossible to pick out a Pokemon correctly, just by looking at it's Pokeball. However, the Professor seemed adamant about which Pokeball the Riolu belonged too, and handed Zura his Pokemon.

"Here you go, treat it with care. As I expect that you treat all the Pokemon you encounter, with care".

"I suppose we wait here for the others. Unless you want to go look around town?" Kura asked Zura

"I just don't know his name. Maybe that rock Pokémon you asked to find us found him." Zura remembered.

Hiryo was in-awe when the pokemon greeted him with a 'purr'. So he sat on his knees and gently petted the small rock-type as he smile.
" Do you know where the Professor is?" He asked her gently.

Hiryo followed the mesmerizing creature, they arrived at the lab where he sees the Professor Hawthorn.
"Hello! You must be the Professor, Thank you for inviting me to this amazing region." Hiryo greeted the professor while looking around the laboratory and then, he thought "This place is not what I was expecting...". Then he asked the professor "Where are the starters? and the Other trainers?"
