Chapter One: The Citrus Bus
Late Summer sun beamed in my face as I tumbled out of bed. I wasn't going to be late for the first day of school for the third year in a row. I could hear my big sister, Mack, already getting ready for work, clipping on her Target name clip in the kitchen. She was 24, and I was 14. We were living together in a small apartment while my mom and dad worked as physical therapists. They had to do so much, they now live closer to their work. So I'm here. Anyway, when I dashed into the kitchen, and pulled some Fruity Pebbles out of the cupboard, and dumped it into a bowl. I poured a gallon of milk on top, while Mack pulled her black, curly hair to the back. You could definitely see her Royal blue crystal eyes better with her hair tied back. I started to eat, half of the milk on my spoon dripping down my chin. You could definitely mistake me as a wild bear during breakfast. Mack smiled, before looking at the clock. "Hey Mia, the citrus bus is going to be here soon!" She warned. I looked at her, puzzled. "You mean the school bus..?" I asked, pausing by the door. "Yeah! That's what mom would call it when I was your age!" She said, slipping on her heels. I grinned. "Well, why did she call it that?" I asked. Mack grabbed her purse, and patted my head. "Can we talk more after school, the "Citrus bus" is here!" She said, pointing outside. "Oh shoot!" I said, running down the metal apartment stairs. I rushed out of the lobby, and jumped onto the bus, without a second to spare. I made a sigh of relive, before slumping down in the seat.
