Houndoom nodded, and used 5 Dark Pulses on Xerneas first. Xerneas was hit by the Dark Pulses, and succumbed to the darkness. Houndoom then used Dark Pulse on Duskull, laughing

Sandslash continued to hear the rustling noises, but ignored them. The base was nearly finished. Xerneas and Duskull had grim smiles on their faces.

Sandslash hammered in the last nail, and laughed. He finally was able to see what was rustling in the bushes, and it was just a Gastly. Before he could recruit the Gastly, it vanished. Duskull chased after it. "What are you doing?" Sandslash yelled.

Duskull ignored Houndoom. He wanted something from Gastly. Did Gastly have some sort of secret item?
